FH and I bought our wedding bands a few weeks ago from Zales. The ring FH wanted was only offered online so we went ahead and ordered it so we would have plenty of time to send it back and find a new one if he did not like it. I bought an enhancer for my ring since the traditional band did not fit the shape of the stone.

I had to send my engagement ring with the enhancer so they could size and shape the enhancer with the e-ring. I was suppose to have them back last Thursday but when it came back a few stones were loose. They sent both rings back to be fixed which was only suppose to take 3 days to ship, fix, and return. It has now been 6 days and they still do not have it in. I have not had my e-ring in 3 weeks which is also why I am so upset.

FH resize was no issue, but they can't seem to hold it together to fix my ring and send it back!

Is this normal or is my Zales having a glitch?

My E-ring was from zales. It was way too loose and when I got it so the next day I took it to be sized. They said I'd get it back in two weeks but I didn't get it back for 7. Needless to say I'm not giving it to them again. But I should mention they sized it and added the stability beads and everything was fine with the work.

The ONLY reasons my FH bought my e-ring from Zales was because his sister is the store manager at our location. If it wasn't for her working there he said he would've done something else because he hates retail chain jewelry stores and honestly so do I. I had to take my ring in for it's 6 month inspection and sizing and I gave my ring to her the night before she had to work and she personally handled it all. When it came back from resizing the center stone was no longer in the ring and she handled it all and even had them replace the head with platinum instead of the original white gold. If she ever leaves the company I have no clue what I am going to do.

This is why I would never go to a place like this in the mall .Find a reputable local jeweler.

One of the diamonds on my ring fell off and my FH took it to fix it, they told him that it might take 2 to 3 weeks to get back because the diamonds have to match, but since yours were just loose, I don't know what's going on, I did hate not having my ring for that long =(

After I get both of my rings back I will never use them again. Definitely going to look into our local jewelers for anymore pieces or work.

That is sketchy! I'd be pissed and paying them a visit daily until I had those rings back in my hot little hand!

I went to pick up my rings today and guess what?

FH ring was too big and my ring was too small! I told the lady they were not the right size and she said to take the weekend and think about it to see if we really didn't like the size.

I will definitely take our rings to someone else after doing some research to have them sized again.

Diamond's Direct has been amazing. I told FH not to go to Kay's, Jared, or Zales for all the reasons you ladies are describing. I would definitely speak to the manager. Hang in there!

Helpful tip from your resident actress- instead of giving them hell on the phone, no matter how rightfully mad and pissed you are, be super polite but very sad- cry! But don't lose it on them. I get so much farther with business who have made mistakes that way (my insurance sending me the wrong bill etc) because these people get yelled at all the time and usually it's not the person you're talking to's fault. When they sympathize they are way more inclined to help.
