Your wedding in numbers! How many vendors are you hiring?

Planning a wedding is a team sport - you can't do it alone! How many vendors are you hiring to make your wedding day vision come to life? How many vendors in your vendor team?? (Psst! Curious how you stack up? The average couple hires 13 vendors!!) Photo by Karina Jensen Photography in Punta Cana...

I never really paid attention before, but seems like a lot when it’s all listed and counted! 13 vendors.

venue, caterer, bartender (2), bakery, photographer (2), dj, doc, florist, invitations, officiant, hair, mua, seamstress... I’m hoping that’s it and that no others are added.

We have personal friends we are a DJ, cake baker, and photographer for our reception. We are doing a intimiste destination wedding beforehand, and will be using a sort of “one stop shop” company who takes care of officiant, transportation, flowers, ceremony music, and photography. So I guess it will just be one or two vendors for us.

I hired someone to do hair and makeup, a DJ, and a photographer, and a local in-home baker. So 4 vendors total. Unless you count the tent supplier that we rented from for our outdoor wedding, then it would be 5. $500 for the photographer, $500 for the DJ, $250 for hair and makeup for me and one bride's maid, and $60 for the two tier cake and cupcakes.

Guests are at about 40 people, and we are preparing and serving our own food (pulled pork, coleslaw, beans, etc). We have all the tables and chairs needed from borrowing and pulling together. We have all the plates and silverware needed, as well. We're putting up all the decorations. My friend is officiating it.

I know that the bride and groom are supposed to get a wedding planner -- but I took on that job. I rarely had my maid of honor do much of anything except help with decorations (wedding is May 27th, 2018). My budget was $2,000 and I made it fit.

It depends if I count all the different vendors affiliated with the church in someway as part of the venue or not. So, 6, or 9, or 10 depending on the break down lol
    1. Church ceremony+officiant + organist+ reception venue
    2. Caterer (also affiliated with the church, but paying her separately)
    3. DJ
    4. Photographer
    5. Cake + delivery
    6. Florist
I'm not sure if these next ones count as vendors for the wedding day
    7. Independent seamstress for dress
    8. Independent cleaning/gown preparation
    9. Tux rental

We had a lot of Free Help so if I break it down I would say only 4 were hired. Food, Cake, Florist and Table/Chair Rental.

My wedding was preformed at my home, my husbands cousin owns REA Designs Hawaii and she set up our archway, head table and cake area.

My son does part time DJ music and so he took care of the music along with his friends who were all excited and willing to help him.

My MC was my very funny and energetic Oldest Niece. She also set up my other nieces with walkie talkies so they could communicate inside and outside of the house to keep things rolling smooth.

My husband who also does photography is doing an exchange with our Photographers as they are also getting married soon.

My girlfriend who once was a Bartender took care of our bar service.

Even my minister gave us the gift of marrying us, she is my Classmate

Most of my decorations were DIY done by myself and my sister!

Let's see, wedding venue, reception venue, food, dessert, photographer(s), dress designer, nails, BM dresses, GM suits makes 10? I'm doing my own hair/makeup & decorations, FH's uncle is the officiant, and no DJ or flowers.

    1. venue

    2. church (space, officiant, pianist, singer)

    3. caterer

    4. baker, florist, decor coord (single vendor for these things)

    5. DJ/MC

    6. photographer

    7. hair and makeup artists

And that's it for service-based vendors, I think.
