I am not the one that is inviting someone last minute. I got invited to a wedding on Sunday that is happening tomorrow. I got invited threw text by the bride's son (my best friend), but I am not invited to the ceremony, nor am I invited to the dinner part of the reception. I am invited to the dancing part of the reception, and I am invited to the after party. Just wanted to hear your thoughts.

I feel like the bride doesn't care if you're there, and let her son invite you as a favor so he wouldn't be bored/ without his best friends.

If you are down for an evening of free drinks and dancing with your best friend, I would say go for it and don't worry about the mother's bridal etiquette and don't worry about bringing a gift at all, a nice card would be more than enough.

I personally don't see the big deal... I would go. Especially if I wanted to see my friend. It doesn't sound gift grabby to me at all, I don't know why people automatically assume that smh

I went. It was awkward at first, but there were a few other people that were invited the same way I was. Those people being 2 of my friends other friends, one of his cousin's friends, and a few of his brother's friends. And when his mom saw me she gave me a big hug and said I better see you B****** on the dance floor to me and my my best friend's gf. Ps she doesn't know I don't like her... She thinks she is like the "cool mom" and everyone loves her, but really we think she is nutts and want her to stop calling us her B******

Totally your call. I would feel really awkward the whole time. If I liked parties in the first place, that might be one thing, but this sounds pretty brutal to me!
