You guys,
FH's Aunt is... interesting. At Easter dinner, she said she had looked at our registry (Crate & Barrel) but thought what we registered for was boring. Yes, she really said that. She said she wanted to get us something more interesting and memorable and asked if we were intending to keep our kitchen table long-term. (It's a 1950s antique with the chrome and stuff.)
So, she bought us reproduction chairs to match the table. I love them. It was very thoughtful, even though her delivery sucks.
As I'm thanking her for the chairs she says "I wanted to get you something nice and I wanted to never have to look at your ugly chairs again. You can throw them out now."
Sometimes I can't believe the family I'm marrying. Ugh.
