I have 7 days to decide on a father/daughter dance song! I have been thinking You are my sunshine by Johnny Cash. My dad only listens to older music and I wanted to dance to an artist that we both liked. I thought of this song and I really like it, however I'm afraid it sounds too rough (and my mom said the same thing).

What do y'all think? Good father/daughter dance song or nah?

I really love the song but the lyrics may not be the best if anyone really listens to them. :-/

Yeah we wouldn't do the whole song. This was a lullaby in my family. My dad's mom sang it to all her kids and I always heard it growing up too.

If you go online, like to YouTube, they have playlists of father daughter songs for weddings. That's how I found not only my song, Daddy Dance with Me by Krystal Keith (Toby Keith's daughter) but it's also how we found the song for FH and his mother. Good luck Date Twin!

It's an okay song...but really only the chorus is acceptable for a father/daughter dance. The rest of the song is SUPER sad. My sisters and I performed it once and I was super shocked.
If you like lullabies as father/daughter dance since, there's a version of "Hush Little Baby" by Bobby McFerrin and Yo-Yo Ma. It's what my dad and I used.

My dad and I are dancing to blessed by elton john. He used to tell me when my mom was pregnant and when I was a baby he would hear it and it would bring tears to his eyes. I was his first child. I would talk to your dad ask him if any song would be special for him to have that moment with you too.
