Tell your photographer so that they know not to specifically angle the camera so that it faces just your profile.

I hate when my face is at a certain angle for pictures. But I agree with OTW, let your photographer know! They are usually pretty good about helping out with that. For my engagement pictures I had a TERRIBLE spray tan that made me look orange, so she toned down the orange tone in the pictures and it was a tremendous help!

Everyone has SOMETHING like for me it's my teeth. They look SO spacey and pushed out at certain angles so I just don't put up those pictures or videos clips Smiley smile

I hate my profile too! My neck/jaw line is not defined. I was even told by a doctor the only way to fix that is surgery, not losing even more weight. I dread the photos too. I didn't even think about mentioning it to the photographer so he can beware of certain angles!

Yep! we just didn't print those pictures :-)

tell your photographer about your fear and he/she should be able to sneak around to get a good angle you during the ceremony

I think it's inevitable that profile pics will show up. Especially when you and your FH are facing each other. Just let your photographer know and they can get you at different angles. And engagement shots are always good for practice. You can address your concerns then. And there are some tricks that help. I try to lift my chin more than usual.

I have a giant honker and used to want a nose job. Then an artist saw me in the mall one day and said I one of the best profile and actual painted pictures of me. Now, I embrace it since it's part of my genealogy, (still don't love it though). So, what you see as a flaw, others may see as beautiful.

I don't take good pictures period, so I'm afraid we've spent money on a photographer and will end up with a bunch of pictures I hate.

I don't like my profile either. Or straight on shots. Or, really any pic of me.

@Piecesofadream... exactly! It's actually happened to me before. Had to have my HS senior pictures retaken because they were so bad. Hoping that the awesome photographer I have (and the MUA I plan on getting) can make me look decent.

@piecesofadream -- I feel the exact same way, but the photographer can do wonders, applying smoothing filters, taking tons of pics at slightly different angles, etc and I'm sure your money won't be wasted! I'm worried too about my profile and will tell the photog so he can work around it Smiley winking Also, I'm going to have pieces of wavy hair hanging down the sides of my face for a little coverup. Hair style might make a difference for you.

I do not like having my picture taken. I do however, like myself in black and white photos. Odd I know, but the pictures we had taken by a photographer in black and white were awesome. I didn't care for many of our engagement photo's but liked the job our photographer did. I know with hair and makeup done by a professional I may surprise myself and love what I look like on my wedding day.....here's hoping!

Definitely speak with your photographer. If you don't like the photo, chances are you won't buy it so he/she will be wasting their time. They want you to be 100% happy. This issue comes up al the time. Smiley smile

Yes! I have sorta buck teeth that I was trying to get fixed before my wedding, but then I was told I need to have my wisdom teeth removed first so it's just not going to happen. My orthodontist told me that I will look like I have less of a "beak" when the braces are off...lol. Can't wait for my beak pictures.

Definitely let your photographer know--they may not be able to avoid entirely but will be good for them to be aware. I used to hate mine, (hated my nose) but over time I grew to accept and appreciate my profile--it fits my facial structure, balances out my face. I look very eastern European I guess, big nose with a bump on it, high wide cheeks, small heart shaped chin. So many artists and photographers have complimented my look that I finally stopped worrying. I'm pretty anal about being shot at the right angle though (I hate when people hold their phone down and aim up to take a pic, making you and everyone else look bigger) but trust my photographer, as I have worked with her before thankfully!

We're all self-conscious about something. I don't tell anyone mine anymore because I've learned most people don't see what I see and I certainly don't need to draw their attention to it.

Definitely let your photographer know and I'm sure they'll do their best. When some profile pics sneak in, try to see it as others do. They're not nearly as critical :-)

I've warmed up to it, but I"m not crazy about it so I've thought about this too.

I'm not having that many posed shots. but a 'staring into each other's eyes ' shot isn't on the list.
