What do you think about paperless invites? Like text, Evite ... opinions? Is it tacky or do you find it eco friendly? It has come to thought, but I don't know if it will look bad. Invitations are thrown away eventually right?

No, I don't like the evites. Most people do not check their emails. What if it goes into the spam/junk mail?

I just spent $30 on my invitations from vistaprint.. Honestly you can get real invites without breaking the bank. I wouldn't do the e-vite.

I would not do that for invitations, however we are doing electronic RSVPs.

We did an email STD, paper invitations, but did not send our RSVP cards and envelopes. People RSVP'ed through the wedding website and we called/texted/asked any "missing" folks. We did a paper invitation and insert card with info through weddingpaperdivas for about $200 (100 invites and envelopes).

Very tacky. I would see that and think, "Wow, this person wants me to come to their wedding with a gift in my hand but they couldn't put in the effort to mail me a real invite?"

It's def more affordable but I personally like getting one in the mail. I'm not sending a rsvp card to anyone under the age of 40 they can go online and rsvp lol sorry not sorry

We did paper invites, but did online or text RSVP's and it worked great. It was a bit of a happy medium of sending and invitation, but not having them send paper back to us. Our response rate was great, we didn't have any no shows, and no surprise guests.

I would find them to be a little impersonal, and would expect the wedding to also be informal. BUT, I send out actual invitations for friendsgiving that I host every year, so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt Smiley smile

As long as I actually received them though, I don't think it would have an impact as to whether or not I would attend. I have seen an online RSVP, which was fine, but I didn't use it because they supplied a stamped envelope and didn't want to waste their money..

I think for the younger guests it's reasonable, but I wouldn't personally do it. I feel like it makes guests feel honored and special by having something tangible and not just online.

@OP I think online RSVPs are fine like if they are done through a website. I would find a paperless invite harder to keep track of than a paper invite. Plus some family members keep those as a memory Smiley smile I also think like other people have said it's about knowing your audience.

I sent out paper save the dates and I'm making people rsvp online and my mom told me how a lot of my older relatives can't/don't know how to rsvp online but they are still going to show up to the wedding. So keep that in mind.

I did online STDs/RSVPs with paper invites to the elderly. We put "Formal attire requested" on the invite. We had the expected turnout and everyone was appropriately attired. Agree that it's a "know your audience" situation. I actually prefer evites since I can then easily access the info from anywhere. I'm the type that throws out paper invitations.

I would recommend a post card design because you save on envelopes and you can get them for 50% off on vista print Smiley smile you can get so many cool simple invites from Etsy!

I personally like the idea of e-vites, but don't think you should do it. Besides things being accidentally deleted or sent to spam, there will usually be a few guests who just really don't appreciate it. My FH and I decided to compromise and send physical invitations but have RSVPing online through our wedding website. We saved money by not having RSVP cards or postage for them.

We did a PRO video invite - with online RSVP. Everybody LOVED them. We sent paper invitations to our older guests - less than 20.

I'm undecided. I think all the paper is somewhat ridiculous. Of course, I'm a very practical bride and my response to a lot of wedding stuff is "come on, you aren't a princess wedding a prince and uniting two great world powers." I actually love paper, which is the irony, but I would probably be less likely to see one in the mail than in my email. My mail is basically 99% junk that I recycle. And I basically get a paper invite and throw it away after responding and getting any pertinent info into my calendar. Anyway, I'm having a small wedding and casual bigger reception. I'm sending out printed save the dates to my wedding invitees with a website link. I may or may not do paper invitations. There are so few I could easily follow up by phone.
