Yes or No? Cricut

Marissa, on October 9, 2019 at 9:33 PM Posted in Style and Décor 2 18

Is it worth it to buy a cricut machine for decor making or is it cheaper to buy things off of Etsy?

I made all of these on the Cricut. Probably spent $40 total

Which circuit did you buy? Can you use the same one for both vinyl and tshirts?

I am sure you can find someone local who has a circuit that you can pay them to do it! plus one less thing on your to do list!

If you’ll use it after the wedding it’ll definitely be worth it. I use my cricut all the time, I‘ve made cards, gifts, some apartment decor, and irons for shirts. The only thing wedding related I have done so far is make some thank you cards to send to people that mailed us congratulations on your engagement cards, but I plan on using it as much as I can. I recently made the tea frame with the cricut and I’m saving it for a Christmas present. One of the other things I’ve made that I love is a box for all our tickets.

I think the best thing to consider before buying one is time. Which is more important time or money? If you enjoy crafting and have the time the cricut would be a good fit because it takes time and patience to design and create. You also have to go shop for the materials before making anything, definitely don’t want to run out of anything in the middle of a project! It might come out cheaper than ordering on Etsy but think about the work that goes into it. I’ve gone back and forth about the same thing because I’m not sure if I’d have the time to put into it. Hope this helps!

Yes this is my dilemma. I work 3 12’s so I feel like I have time. And this way I can have it done the way I like it, nervous about the perfectionist in me though

I don't think it's worth it for just wedding stuff, but if u like to craft then totally worth it! I love crafting, the wedding potential is an added bonus.

If you’re going to use it for wedding items only, not worth it. If you’re going to use it outside of wedding planning, sure.

We got my mom one last year for her anniversary but she has used it so much already that it made it worth it before she even started working on wedding stuff. We used it to address all the RSVP envelopes and she’s used it to make signs for our wedding. This is one that she’s working on now.

I bought one just for wedding stuff. I work in marketing, so I’m fairly particular about my fonts and didn’t want to trust font selection to a person on Etsy. 🤷‍♀️

I’m planning to sell it after the wedding.

I LOVE my Cricut. They are expensive so as long as you will continue to use it after the wedding, its worth it! I have made 80% of my gifts/decorations using it for my wedding so far. Smiley smile

    I LOVE my cricut!!

I bought my cricut because of my wedding but I also plan to use it a lot after the wedding too! I’d love to make a side business with it and host “crafting” parties!

(The attached picture are the mugs I made for my girls! Their names are on the other side!)

I have a Silhouette Cameo and I already made bridal party wine glasses (for a total of about $20). The difference is that FH and I are both teachers and I actually bought it a year ago for school things (the bulletin board struggle is real). If you think you'll use it beyond the wedding ,I'd go for it.

Thank you for this post because I just did a bunch of research and decided that I would benefit from having a cricut and Santa will be bringing me one this year! Smiley smile I weighed the options and the amount of things I was planning to buy on Etsy I would have a blast making on my own. I also have a lot of time on my hands so that helped make my decision!
