Yacht Reception.

Blessing, on February 22, 2021 at 10:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hey ladies,

I have always dreamt of hosting my wedding guests to dinner on a yacht. It's my dreamy feeling but I totally have zero knowledge on how to make my dream come true. I would appreciate any guidance, recommendations on deco, yachts and if any of you ladies has held their wedding reception on a yacht before, please share your experince. Thanks

How many guests? What location? Are you talking about a commercial yacht (like the Hornblower yachts out of SF, SD or DC)? They have wedding packages. Or are you talking about chartering a private yacht (like Below Deck)?

I have 50 guests. Dc is my priority location but honestly, Virginia and Maryland can work for me if I find what am looking for. I will check out Hornblower Yachts but I am also considering chartering a private Yacht. Any recommendations would be great.

    Thanks

Yes, do it! I’m in San Diego and Hornblower is very popular. But we have other companies and and private yachts to rent. I’m sure a Google search in your area would provide some helpful results.

Warning: I researched yachts - they are SUPER expensive.

That said, try the "Venues" tab, above, and cross-reference with the Knot, Google, and Yelp.

If it’s your budget then go for it! I can’t help you on specifics but your idea sounds awesome!

Yachts are incredibly expensive like a previous poster mentioned. Try to rent it for as little tine as possible.

I attended a wedding on a yacht. They were able to have around 100 people but keep in mind the layout of most boats is not too conducive to a party environment. We were spread out between two stories and multiple rooms, I’d imagine most yachts will have a similar setup. Bathrooms were teeny tiny also.

Check out Hornblower cruises! They were actually the cheapest option for an all inclusive venue that I found (I decided to stick to a reception on land and did not book with them). Their customer service was great all throughout the quoting experience.

Hosting your dinner on a yacht could create an unforgettable experience for your guests. To get started, you might want to research yacht rental companies in your area and see which ones offer event-hosting services. Look for reviews and ask for recommendations from others who have planned similar events.
