Writing out address or using nice font with clear labels???

Nancy, on June 25, 2016 at 7:55 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

None of us really have beautiful writing and the question for everyone ... is it okay to use clear labels with a nice font for the address on the envelopes for wedding invitations??

I used labels for my STD's - they looked nice. What I did with our invites was just put them through my printer and had them printed directly on the envelope, they looked a lot nicer and was super easy.

We're not using labels but nothing wrong with using them.

I didn't want to use labels. We tried the printing onto the envelope and our printer hated us. We got over it and bought some clear labels that are matte and they turned out awesome.

I don't see anything wrong with using labels. I'll be printing directly on my envelopes but some printers are a pain to do that with.

I'm using labels for our address but my handwriting is just fine so I'm totally okay with dong it for 60 guests.

I used labels but my mom was unhappy about it. I asked a couple people if they remembered of the last wedding invite they received had the address printed or handwritten....they didn't

I'm struggling with this decision also! I enjoy writing in a formal font but I don't know if I have the patience to address them all, I didn't even think about clear labels!

As long as it's legible enough to get there, I don't think it really matters! Are your wedding invitations SUPER fancy? If so, having labels may clash with the rest of the invite, but it not, forget it and go with whatever will be least stressful for you guys.

My daughter printer hers at home from her computer using Microsoft word. There's envelope printing with sizes. Also, you can pick your font. They came out beautiful.

We are just printing directly onto rhe envelopes. I am too worried about the post office not being able to read anything handwritten.

We tried printing directly but it didn't work. If you have metallic or pearlized envelopes, the ink can't absorb fast enough and the printer smudges them as it prints. We went with clear labels after discovering that, and called it a day.

@Klim That is good to know! I'm too cheap for fancy envelopes so mine printed fine.
