Wrist vs Pin Corsages: Pros and Cons

O&L, on August 29, 2016 at 5:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 17

FSIL initially requested wrist corsage because her dress is lace and pin corsage might damage it? She is now worry that wrist corsage might bother her.

The rest of the ladies in the family don't care at all.

I just want them to be happy. Can you guys weight out pros and cons to help us make a decision. What are you guys doing?

I am actually in the same boat. My future MIL said that she would prefer wrist but said it's not a big deal either way.

Ask your florist to fashion a pin corsage that utilizes a magnet instead of a pin.

TCF beat me to it. Great tip, as always.

@centerpiece, that is brilliant! I really dislike the look of wrist corsages but my mom was fretting about ruining her dress with a pin. Thanks for your tip!

Who exactly should be getting something? I'm letting my mother and FMIL decide what they'd like, they are the ones who need to wear it..

I can't get my mom to wear either even though my fmil is going to be wearing a pin corsage. I just hope it doesn't make the pictures look unbalanced

My mom decided she would rather carry flowers for a short period of time - aka the ceremony only.

She doesn't want to risk any damage to a dress, plus she doesn't really enjoy wearing flowers - so a small bunch of roses it is.

Why not a small bouquet? That's what we're doing!

Corsages are for the ladies in the immediate family, two moms and three SIL. I don't have a bridal party.

A florist we met with suggested my mom and FMIL carry a small bouquet during the ceremony and my step mom have a wrist corsage

They all wanted corsages. The florist just got back to me saying they can do magnet ones! Yay!

If going the route of pin, use a magnet. Simple, quick, and does not damage clothing. If a magnet is not an option, from a photographer's POV, I prefer the wrist corsage. It can be readily changed out depending on how the person is posed.

I'm doing mini bouquets for the moms instead of corsages. Just another option!

My mom requested hers be a pin...and I made the others wrist ones. I think they look nice either way.

My mom just asked me this yesterday--worried about a pin ruining her dress. I checked with my florist and yep, they do magnet corsages. No mess, no muss.
