WR: Mother's Wedding Dress

I think it's an excellent idea. i've seen it done before and there's no such thing as good luck or bad luck. life and marriage is what you make it and it takes the effort of two people coming together and making it work no matter what and knowing how to get through things, deal with things, and laugh off what they can. one piece of fabric from your mothers dress won't determine your marriage. so no worries. and I think it's sweet.

That's how I think of it too, but you know. Part of me believes in all the superstitions and stuff too I think that my sister's bouquet (she's my MOH) will also have a piece of the dress wrapped around it as well. Do you think that is a good idea too? It would stand out from the rest of my BMs, is that okay?

Now I just have to find out if my gramma kept it... good thing we're making an emergency visit to our hometown this weekend...

I saw David Tutera do this on my fair wedding and it looks awesome...pending your sisters decision, I say go for it!

I think that'd be sweet. or at least save some for when your sister gets married also. which is just silly to say because duh you wouldn't be wrapping the WHOLE dress around a bouquet lol i'll shutup now, but i think you should do it!

My parents are also divorced, have been for years, but are friendly and get along quite well. I have my mom's dress, which is this ridiculous embroidered muumuu linen thing (my parents were total hippies). I was thinking of rolling into the rehearsal in my mom's dress as a gag.

That sounds like a great idea. And no, it does not sound like bad luck at all. It seems like a great way to honor your mother and where you came from.
