WR-Hostess gifts when there are multiple hostesses

Amy "Been here too long" W., on September 2, 2011 at 6:31 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

I was just informed that all 6 of my bridemaids are throwing the shower. They are all pitching in by either making/buying food, drinks or decorations or giving money towards it. There is no clear hostess. So, my question is do I buy them all hostess gifts? My Mom thinks I should only buy a gift for my Aunt who is letting them use her house for it, but not helping at all with the planning/food. I don't think that is right and I want to do what is proper not just whatever I want since it is my day. What are your thoughts?

If I were you I would give them all a thank you gift. It wouldn't be expensive or elaborate but just a little something since I will be giving them nicer gifts at the rehersal dinner.

I would give them something small and delightful. Maybe even just a Thank You note with a personal message written to each of them.

Since you're probably already getting them BM gifts, you shouldn't have to be too extravagant for thse hostess gifts.

I just found out another close friend who is not a BM (her choice) and the FG are also helping plan. So...I guess I need to get 8 hostess gifts. I'm thinking bottles of wine/booze for a few and maybe manicure gift certificates for the others?
