To get a better price on something? The local market bakery (that makes the most delicious cakes I have eaten) charges double for wedding cakes when compared to their other specialty cakes. a six inch round for wedding is $45 where it is only $20 when not a wedding cake and so on. Have you/would you tell a little white lie?

I don't up charge my wedding cakes and I take just as much care in preparing them as I do any other event cake. Woot woot to me for quality goods!

To answer your question, I would lie, I know someone who told her wedding venue that she was having an anniversary party, saved her forty percent. Ridiculous.

^^That is freaking ridiculous! I don't understand why there are such larger prices just because of the stamp "wedding" My venue was awesome and was like, you just have to be out by 5 or else we would charge you the "wedding" rate which was 1,500 more than what I am paying with the event.

The Bible says "Thou shall not lie". If your not Christian, this may not mean anything to you....

A friend of mine did that for her wedding and saved a lot. I had no idea that they do that. My cake order is already put in tho. Honestly a cake order should be a cake order. Pricing should be determined on how big of a cake you need and slices etc. not just because it's a wedding you automatically are charged extra. Hey, it's a special occasion!

@Beth... yeah. That was what was holding me back. Really I don't wanna lie. I'll try to strike a deal. But i feel these places that do this are just being so greedy!

@HoneyBee Yay! another date twin. I've been on this site forever and I'm so glad to finally have date twins!

I wouldn't lie. What goes around comes around and I would hate for the vendors to find out, which they will because people talk.

I wouldn't but not for the same reasons, all valid, listed here. I am just not a good liar. The stress would not make it worth the savings for me.
