Would you buy a used wedding dress??

I am thinking of posting my gorgeous wedding gown for sale for after my October wedding. It's a high end designer and I would think someone would want to buy it for a lower price than if it was new (over 5k). Is that weird? Would you buy a used wedding dress or is trying to sell it a waste of time??...

I totally would by used and regret that I bought a new dress. Could have saved a bundle. I really don't care that a dress has been worn before.

I'm using my MOH's dress! As long as it fits. I'm going to change a few things (shorten it, add a few embellishments). I'm really excited for it! I like saving the money, but I also love sharing something like that with the girl who is like my sister.

I don't see an issue with it. If it's clean and if it's a dress I absolutely fell in love with and couldn't afford the retail price, why not.

It's not about the dress, it's about the woman in the dress. Bought a dress for 85% less than the original cost cz somebody changed their mind. As long as you look and feel beautiful, who cares. Nobody is going to ask you where or how much you paid for the dress. When I'm done, it's going to go out their again.

As for the rings - my father passed when I was young. I'm going to wear my mother's engagement ring for my wedding band. They loved each other their entire lives. Hopefully some of that will be passed on. My hubby is happily going to wear my grandfather's band. Comes with a lot of wisdom

I almost lost my hubby to be last year. Unexpected quad bypass. Clears your line of thinking about what is important. Having him to love me ,be there on our wedding day and grow old together is what is most important. The rest are just the ruffles. He wanted the dress and the wedding. Felt that I should have it. Not me. Only need him and a quiet ceremony.

Marion, you are so right, and I say something along those lines in every ceremony. It's all about marrying the person you love with your friends and family surrounding you. I've had a few brides wear dresses from a consignment shop I recommend in NJ. I never would have known that they were pre-worn; those brides looked gorgeous, and had some money to put elsewhere.

I also love the idea of heirloom jewelry. Or heirloom fishing hats. Or heirloom cowboy boots. I've seen them all. Cool stuff.

I would LOVE to but I've never come across any dresses that I absolutely love.

I almost did buy a preowned wedding gown. There are plenty of websites, but there are also local consignment bridal shops you can try out. A good designer dress would probably be a great sell. I've heard DB dresses are really hard to sell.

My dress is preowned. $1300 La Sposa for less than $600. I WAS ALL OVER THAT SHIT.

I wouldn't buy a used dress and I don't see myself selling my dress either

I am buying a used wedding dress. The girl paid $350 for it and is letting me have it for $75 because it needs to be taken about 4 sizes, a corset put in and probable a bustle and that will cost about $200.
