I found my dress at the first shop I went to. It was the 3rd dress I tried on, and it was the perfect combination of the first two dresses I tried!
(The only pictures I have of my dress are ones that I didn’t know were even taken 😂)

I ADORE the lace in your dress

If you don't think the dress will annoy you during the reception and you're not afraid of tripping on it, you don't need to have a bustle

This was at my second fitting -

It looks much more dramatic when its not bustled.

Part of me wishes I went for a more traditional, white/ivory a-line or even ballgown type affair, but I'm 42 and this is my second marriage... I think what I'm wearing is totally appropriate.

Some of the additions to the original dress are the straps across the back and the small piece of fabric at my cleavage (it was way too low for my taste, lol).

I wasn't sure about wearing a belt, but I think it adds some definition to my body. I'm recovering from an eating disorder and have gained 15-20 pounds!!!! I feel bulky and misshapen though

I think the problem a lot of us are having is that we look at the models in the sample dresses and compare ourselves to that - those women are in the < 1% who can wear those sizes. And so we go and put on dresses and feel dissatisfied because what we see isn't matching up to the images online or in bridal magazines. Which in turn leads us to second guess our choices
