Would it be horrible to have a Thursday rehearsal (for a Saturday wedding)?

PROS:

* The ceremony venue won't let us rehearse Friday unless it's after a Friday wedding (the venue is talking with two people who want their wedding that day).

* Most Friday weddings take place after 6 pm to allow people time off of work.

* The ceremony location is outdoors, and sundown will be occurring a bit after 8 pm.

* Re: off-site rehearsal: The on-site audio system testing/run-through will be pretty important -- we want to avoid a tacky moment when a mic isn't on or the wrong music is cued.

* Our contract reserves us Thursday from 5-8 pm at the ceremony location (or Friday after the Friday night wedding).

CONS:

* Most (almost all) of the wedding party is not local to the area, so Thursday rehearsals mean more travel/time off (though Thursday flights are typically cheaper than Fridays).

Would I be getting serious shade for scheduling the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Thursday night for a Saturday wedding? Have any of you been in an OOT rehearsal on a Thursday?

I had to have my rehearsal on a Thursday as well. I actually preferred it because Fridays in LA traffic are horrible! My cousin who was a BM and my uncle who was escorting my mom were unable to attend the rehearsal since they live about 4 hours away. So what we did was have my mom and my BIL practice by themselves, and my sister set up her phone so she could record the rehearsal and send it to my cousin to view. The day of those two missing people knew exactly what to do but we made them practice it once with their actual partner and it was fine.

We had a Thursday rehearsal and it was actually nice to have all of Friday to do what ever we needed/wanted to do, especially being the night before the wedding. If someone is unable to attend, don't stress about it, everyone knows how to walk. Smiley winking

My best friend did that . I had to miss the actual rehearsal bc I had a night class and it was the last class before midterms but its not like walking down an aisle is rocket science . I don't think its a big deal at all
