I think it would look out of place. The dress is so light and airy and a cathedral length veil would just weight the whole thing down, I think.

I would look at a cascading fingertip veil. That's what I'm thinking about doing with my dres, which is all lace.

Oh, also, I would do veil or flowers, not both. If you do want a veil, do that during the ceremony and switch to the flowers for the reception. Both is too much.

My opinion is probably a bit "slanted" but, I see no reason why a Cathedral length veil would look funny. If you want to wear a long veil DO IT. Personally I love the way they look.

My advice is try on as many veils as you can - with your dress - until you find a look you like.

I think a chapel length would look better, personally, since your dress is not super formal.

I want to make my own veil for pictures and get fun with it but dont feel comfertable in one so im not going to wear it for the ceremony and reception. i think something shorter would look better. like it was said above, try them on with your dress and see what works for you !

Geez.. wish I had some one to go with to the store to try on veils with the dress. One BM is in Phoenix and the other...well....she is hard to get a hold of and has weird work days.

I think it depends on the style of your veil. Maybe a chapel length would look a bit more appropriate. I think you could get away with a cathedral veil if it was simple and only one layer.

What length is ur friends viel... it looks like it might be cathedral and that style with the very light weight material would look fine but I wouldn't go with something like Artisticveil's photo that is much more heavy and would distract from your dress...

I think if you do a chapel would look good as long as you only do one layer. And you could still do the flower.

    I agree with Victoria C.

You need something not too wide - 72" max with a plain cut edge or a pencil edge. Something with a cascade shape would be nice but, I really like the one your friend had.

I would not do a veil with your dress at all, I think just the flowers in your hair would be enough, btw your dress is pretty Smiley smile

I've read that you shouldn't wear a cathedral veil if you have a dress without a train but..I'm wearing one and my dress doesn't have a train. I didn't want a train on my dress and I love the cathedral length veil. I think as long as it looks good....go for it! I see the point the girls are making about flowers and veil and I do think that maks sense. I'm wearing flowers in my hair..however, I'm only wearing the veil for the ceremony so the flowers will show at the reception. If you plan to wear the veil all day...I'd skip the flowers.

I think that if you keep it simple (not the 2, 3, 4 or 5 tier) it will look really nice (I've seen the mancilla, or whatever that is called and I think it could be cute).
