Worried about pictures

I do not like to be photographed and have what everyone calls resting b*tch face. I am starting to worry over the pictures. I feel that pics taken of me show off my chubby face and I don't want to look mean and chubby. On my wedding day. I hope this is all in my head but I keep stressing over this

Lift your head then lower your chin, try to smile with your eyes. I know it sounds stupid but it works! Think of something that makes you happy or even sing a happy song in your mind and it will make your look genuinely happy.

Thank you for the insight. The night I got engaged and the weeks following I was ridiculously happy and could not stop smiling. I know I will be the same way for the wedding. I wish I could have engagement pictures with our photographer but he is in FL and I am in VA..

Bummer that you can't get e-session pictures with your wedding photographer himself, but I would still recommend doing them. It'll give you more practice in front of the camera and let you see results so you can rest easy about your wedding pictures.

I'd ask your photographer if he has any recommendations about people in your area to use for e-sessions. There are a few nationwide pro groups and if he's part of one, he may know or have met people in your area he can recommend. If not, you can find your own local person for the e-session. It's also great because you'll have photographs of the time you're engaged as well. You're going to be married for the rest of your life, but you just have this one-two (ish) years of being engaged - you want to remember this too and how ridiculously happy you are. Even if you try out a newer photographer (ie. less expensive), I think it'll be worth it for you to get the butterflies out and feel better about the pics.

I also have resting bitch face - I understand. People ask me "whats wrong?!?" all the time when I'm at work or looking at the computer. Nothing is wrong, its just how I look.

I was afraid of the chubby face thing too - my photographer was awesome, and our engagement pictures came out amazing. They'll pose you and tell you how to look, how to turn your head etc. Your pictures will be beautiful!

Should we start an RBF support group?? I hate it when people tell me to smile or ask me what's wrong. The only plus side is that I rarely get approached by panhandlers or those people handing out flyers on the street. I don't try to look mean, I swear!!

Our e-pic sessions (we did two--one with our wedding photographer in MI, and one with another photographer in Nebraska, where we are) definitely helped. The photographer kept telling Matt to whisper something funny in my ear. I thought the pictures would be cheesy, but they're great!! There are a few where I can remember exactly what he's telling me. My photographer also complimented me on my awesome serious face, which was a first! I also agree with the others, that there will be thousands of pictures taken, and your photographer will sift through the bad ones. Just try to relax and have fun, and that will show through in your pictures!
