Most dresses are actually manufactured in China. So I am a "street size" 2 just as you are and my Mori Lee dress was ordered in size 6. I tried it on in September when it arrived to the store and it will need minor alterations.

They go by your measurements and compare it to those that the company has.

That happened to me. Im usually a 14/16 but they had to order in a size 20.

I was embarrassed but I was able to call in last week and order in a size down.

If you’re super concerned about it, I would ask to see the sizing chart for the store or boutique. I’m a street size 2, sometimes a 4 or 5 for my booty, and they ordered me a size 4 that still had to be taken in. I only went to one bridal store so I never had any encounters of ordering up.
