Ok, so I know it's not for four months but I am starting to worry about there being a lack of dancing. We are planning a smaller wedding of about 70ish people. We have a DJ, catered food and an open bar (with bartenders and PLENTY of alcohol). I know the DJ'S job is to get people involved and keep the flow of things going, but I'm just not sure about the crowd. We have more of an older crowd being invited (parents, parents friends kinda of thing) and a handful of people in our age group invited . I just worry that we are spending all this money on a DJ and maybe only a handful of people end up dancing. The reception is scheduled for 5 hours. A happy hour and dinner take up two of those and leave 3 hours of who know what. I will get up and dance and be silly, but if only a handful are up dancing I'm going to feel really self conscious about the lack of participation. Does anyone else worry about this? I know it may seem silly, but it is my concern. Edit:spelling and grammar

I asked DJs what they normally do to get people up and dancing they mentioned a lot of what people said above (line dances, tried-and-true songs, games at tables), but one made the point that as the bride and groom, people will be drawn to you on your wedding day. If you're at the photo booth or the bar, that's where your guests will be. If you're sitting at your table, people will come up to your table to talk to you. But if you're dancing, they'll all be on the floor with you. It's a weird concept for me to be the center of attention but it makes sense. Just make sure you're doing what makes you happy and you have a great time and the rest of your guests will too!
