Winter brides: share your ideas

Are you embracing the holidays or going with a different aesthetic? Are you doing anything unique for the season? What do your inspiration photos look like?

I loved having a winter wedding but we were avoiding the holiday feel. Our wedding was in February so we managed to snag lots of post-Christmas discounts on decor that was white, gold, and silver. Our colors were navy blue and white.

We embraced the season. We had a fully indoor wedding and also provided hot tea, coffee, and hot cocoa. Our guests loved it! We moved the start and end time of our wedding earlier in the day so guests could drive home before dark. I loved using extra candles in our decorations to warm up the feel of the venue.

I'm embracing the season a bit - my bridal party is in dark green and dark red. And all of our flowers are green and red with lots of roses and evergreens. Our main color is black with gold as our accent - giving us a Christmas meets New Years Eve vibe. And my bridal party and I are actually all walking down the aisle to a "Christmas" time song (though not the version most people think of, and all strings so no words being sung).

I love Christmas and that time of the year. We're still trying to figure out if we're going to get some trees to put in our venue - but they would only have twinkle lights on them, not fully decorated for Christmas. For me, the season and the surrounding days were the reason I wanted to get married then. I love that time of the year and I can't wait to have another reason to be happy and celebrate in December.

We are taking advantage of the season and having a food drive in the lobby of our reception as well.

What a friend of mine did was embrace winter wonderland aesthetic instead of the holiday one.
