Hey everyone, I am getting married in January to a Marine. He wants a beach wedding but the only time we can schedule it is in January. Is that even a good idea? Hey everyone, I am getting married in January to a Marine. He wants a beach wedding but the only time we can schedule it is in January. Is that even a good idea? I want to let him be a part of the planning and would love a beach wedding but it would be in North Carolina so it will be cold and around sunset. I was thinking it would be too cold, suggestions or ideas?

I personally dont think the sand on the stage and wave graphics is that great of an idea. But thats just my opinion. It just seems a bit too much like a production and would be distracting from the purpose of the wedding! As far as on the beach in NC its going to be cold and windy still! Even in FL unless you are down south its really windy during the winter and can be pretty cold as well. I'd suggest an indoor location.

Could you compramise with the church now and a vow renewal or honey moon at the beach? I know your saving money so if you cant honey moon now maybe you can go for your aniversery!

Welcome to WW btw Smiley smile

    Hi there!

I was in the similar boat as you...my fiancé is Air Force and the best time for us is February. Since we will be living in FL, we are having down there. Despite wanting a "beach" wedding, it seems like the area of FL we will be is still going to be chilly! So we are going to get married at one of the officers clubs that overlooks the water. Check out restaurants or hotels along the beach - I'm sure you will find something. Also that time of year, is a lot less expensive, so you might find a great venue at low cost. Good luck!
