Wine brand selection?

Our caterer allows us to purchase the alcohol provided for guests, which is then served by their bartender. I have no problem with the beer selection! Wine selection is a different story... What are your favorite affordable brands of wine (we need ~54 bottles)? Has anyone seen or served 1.5L bottles...

BV coastal has wines that run the gamut from 5-100 bucks. They have a cab for like 6 bucks that in my opinion is soooo much better than the standard budget wines (barefoot/yellowtail) which I can't really stand

I'm a huge fan of barefoot. I also don't see a problem with the 1.5L bottles... you get more for your money so why wouldn't you? That's definitely what I'm doing.

I agree the big bottles of Moscato at Costco are good for your sweet white. For red try maybe Fish Eye. Also Black Box makes the best boxed wine if that was a route you'd consider. (Riesling for white, Merlot for red).

Two good brands that are inexpensive, Apothic and Alamos.

Apothic does red, white and rose blends.

Alamos is an affordable Argentinian brand, really good stuff. One of their whites, a Torrontes, is super good! It's a nice alternative to like a Sauvingon Blanc type wine.

We got barefoot! They have a lot of options and its affordable. It is a well known wine. We got the bigger bottles so that the bartenders do not have to open as often! Just a thought.

I second the Apothic recommendation. I just tried their white blend and it's excellent, and the reds are one of my constant go-tos.

In my opinion, while there's sometimes not a huge difference between a $10-$15 bottle of wine; there's an enormous difference between a $7 bottle and a $10 bottle.

We love trader joe's MoonX red wine, its 6.99 and soooo good! They also have a great sparkley pinot grigio for like $7. They have a great wine/sparkling wine selection too for under $10!

Salt of The Earth Wines has GREAT Moscato. it is sweet but not as sweet as a lot of them. It runs about 8-9 a bottle, and they have a red Moscato too.

Also, I have no idea if Stella Rosa is considered "cheap" but their Moscato is awesome!!
