Wine Blending Ceremony- What can I blend that won't taste like garbage?

Taralaine, on July 9, 2017 at 3:23 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

Hey guys,

So in lieu of a unity candle or sand ceremony we wanted to do a wine blending ceremony (because we both like wine, and you know, a good excuse to take a little edge off during the ceremony itself Smiley winking )

So we're trying to figure out what wouldn't be gross together, it doesn't necessarily have to be white/red blend. The only wines we've actually blended before is Red Sangria and Pinot Noir (which is great btw if you like Sangria but also prefer sipping on something that isn't just a mouth full of sugar.) We'd like to do something a little... dare I say, classier? For the ceremony though.

If you have any suggestions that'd be great!

We drink sweet wine (or at least we did for the ceremony) and we blended moscato and pink or red moscato.

It was pretty sweet, but we only took a sip each.

Do you want them to be different colors for drama? If not Cab and Merlot will mix nicely. Another option, why not buy several bottles of wine and have a "mixology" night with close friends ahead a time? The one that makes the best mix could win a bottle of nice wine to take home. It would be a fun little way to share the ceremony with friends/family.

Also - you could check out what blends are sold in bottles.

Lots of wineries sell blends, so if it's good enough for them to make and sell - it would probably be good for mixing on your own too.

    Pinot and Merlot.

You could actually just do a wine sharing too, without blending it.
