Will your dress have a theme or match your venue?

Pat, on September 28, 2023 at 9:15 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
We all have "that dress" in our dreams. Will yours be thematic? (Fairy, Goth, Christmas? )I s it going to blend with your venue?(outdoor, beach, woodsy?) Or are you tossing everything to the wind and doing your own thing! Drop a picture with your 'explanation'!

So since I asked, I'll post mine, because I am still madly in love with my whole day LOLOL We got married on the beach, so I knew I did not want any

to my dress, plus I still was battling the whole "you can't go all fancy for your 3rd wedding" naysayers. Living in Florida, my closet is filled with sundresses. When I found a sundress style wedding dress??? Heaven! Will your dress have a theme or match your venue? 1

I love your dress choice!! It was the perfect beach wedding dress! And now knowing that sundresses are your "thing", it makes it even more perfect!

Since we're doing a civil ceremony at the courthouse, I didn't want to do a full-on wedding dress. So I'm planning to wear a bridal skirt with a sweater. I figure it's casual enough for the venue, but still somewhat "bridal". And it totally fits my everyday aesthetic (LOVE cozy sweaters in the Fall! 🍁🍂). Below is a photo that kinda captures the vibe, but it isn't the actual items I'll be wearing. I'll definitely be wearing a black sweater to bring in the whole "married on Halloween" vibe 🖤

I picked out my dress first, so everything else stems from that! I knew I didn’t want anything too casual or big poofy Princess, but other than that I was open to whatever looked good on me and felt right.

Your dress is lovely and great for the beach!

We're getting married in a little mountain town in their lakeside gazebo. I'm planning to decorate with a flower garland and lanterns for a sort of romantic garden vibe. I bought my dress before we settled on our venue, but I feel like they'll go together alright after decorating a bit

Hi Pat! I don’t have a picture but my dress does not match our vibe at all. Well, it matches the formality of the church. It’s very elegant with a long train and a chapel length veil and sparkles and embellishment but our venue is a tipi and festival vibe with food trucks, games and singers etc. we will still have welcome drinks and all the formalities of the day mixed in. it’s a little of everything we love mixed into our very special day. Everyone is expecting a very boho dress which can also be me but it’s not how I imagined my wedding dress. All of your dresses are so beautiful.

My dress doesn't really match my theme (Godzilla!) though I don't know how you would, though it does go well with getting married on the top floor of a tall building which I thought would be appropriate for a Godzilla wedding. Rather, my accessories do like my necklace my fiance gave me with Mothra's crest, my bouquet inspired by Biollante with vines and red roses, my butterfly veil, and my crocheted shawl to wear that looks like King Ghidorah's wings so I don't get cold in the November Michigan weather.
