It is unlikely that I will have a purse. I am designing my own dress, so I definitely plan to hid some pockets in the super full skirt. Also, my design is very Victorian, so I doubt a purse would really go along with the the theme, unless I did a draw string back like women used to carry at formal balls.

You're designing your own Victorian wedding dress? Oh, that's so cool!!! Will you be making it or are you going to give the designs to someone else to carry out?

I am not, but I will have a few things in a small purse given to my maid of honor. You can also have your mom, or someone close to you (that may not be in your bridal party but you want to give a special role to).

I bought a small crossbody purse specifically for the day of. I had my friend keep it with her until the reception and then kept it on my chair. It was nice to have it with me since I needed tampons sadly and my lipstick for touch ups and my phone. Definitely came in handy while going out on the strip! It's not super fancy so I can use it again.

I will be designing and sewing it myself. I'm a seamstress by trade with historical ballgowns and fantasy costumes being my specialty. So, it all works out in my favor! haha. I can have my dream dress without breaking the bank. It's funny though; all through college and for sometime after, I said that I was going to have someone else make it because I was afraid I'd drive myself crazy and it would never be finished in my own eyes. However, over the years, I came to realize I need absolute control or I won't sleep! At any rate, I'm Irish and it's considered good luck to complete the final stitches of the dress on your wedding day.

Oh my goodness, so many parts of this answer make my day!!! All I can offer is the best of luck and my good vibes coming your way!!! Smiley laugh How long do you think it'll take you to finish the dress? I mean, you've got time to make it, but I'm curious!

I'm currently estimating that it will take about 30 hours to complete.
