Will my guests have food....

Sherry, on August 27, 2019 at 10:59 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13

At this point it is still up in the air. We are 25 days out from the wedding and still having issues with our caterer! We started this journey with them in February! At this point, I have no idea what the menu will be. It is supposed to be a taco bar for 65 people, delivered and setup at 2:45 pm and so far we have received several invoices, most not even ours and the one we did receive that was ours was for 90 people, delivered at 12:30 and not even half the items we requested, double the price we anticipated and our deposit that we made months ago was not incorporated into our price-did they lose it?!?! The owner is out of town until Monday so we will have to wait until then to go for another round of corrections. Our venue only has 5 approved vendors and out of those 5, this was literally the only one we could use because of dietary restrictions, business hours etc and even if we did have another choice, we are too close to start over.

Ugh! So annoying! I went through this a little bit with my caterer. I would go there on Monday and talk to the manager in person and not leave until you get a correct invoice.

I agree with Jessica. I would handle in person, but I would also make the venue aware of the issues you have been having and if you can't resolve on Monday, I would ask them to step in.

I would love to go in person but I have taken off so much time from work already that I cannot take anymore off until the wedding. I have already talked to the venue and they are less than helpful. I should've known something was gonna happen, it was going too good.

Can you have your fiancé go talk to them? I’ve had to send mine a few places because he gets the job done lol

This would drive me nuts. This is not acceptable. If you can't go in person maybe have a phone call and be firm but kind and explain that this is worrisome and that worry is not needed at an already stressful time. See if they can make it right and if not see if they have a backup plan that you can put into place.

It is driving me nuts and the fact that they know I have no other choice but to use them is not helping. If I knew how all of this was going to play out this close, I would have picked a different venue but we fell in love with this one and of course people are always so helpful when they want your business but once they have it, they go into Lets Suck mode! The deposit is non refundable as well so even if there was another place, I would lose that.

Girl, me too! It so frustrating and literally the last BIG thing before the wedding so I am trying to stay positive. We are to the point where we are like just bring the hot stuff and we will bring the toppings just tell us what you are bringing, how much of it and what we owe. It really shouldn't be this difficult for some tacos lol

It really shouldn't be this much stress over some tacos! Definitely leave an honest review after everything is said and done

I would be losing it. I would be breathing fire down the caterers neck AND the venue's back too! If they require you to use certain vendors then they should be somewhat accountable for making sure you get quality service.

That is what I assumed as well but they know I can't go anywhere else, food or venue wise now so I am stuck. I am just hoping that I get an invoice and they actually show up and I am not rushing to order pizzas for 60 people!
