Will a 2ctw single row halo ring be stunning enough?

Candice, on December 14, 2020 at 12:14 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

Hey Ladies,

So my partner asked me to pick out my ring and I picked out a 2ctw halo ring the setting is 1 carat and the middle stone is 1 diamond as well. I am wondering if this ring will be big enough or stunning enough. In the pictures the ring is beautiful but im wondering how this would look on my hand. I plan on getting an eternity ring along and an wedding band that will have diamonds to wear with my engagement ring. I was wondering if you ladies could share pictures of your halo rings that are similar to the one my partner will be purchasing for me. Please let me know if your happy with your ring or if you wish you would have gone bigger. I would also love to hear your thoughts on double row halo rings as well.

It's very pretty! My engagement ring is a Halo. It is the Disney Tinkerbell ring. It is less than 2ctw. My wedding band is two rows with diamonds. I love both.

I have a round halo ering with a 1.5 carat middle stone (halo is less than .5 carat).
Personal opinion.... not a fan of a double halo. It makes the center stone look much smaller and I think it makes the ring look too busy and cheapens the look of the ring. Just my personal opinion though.

I would go with a larger center stone and more delicate setting if you really want it to look blingy.

Although it's a different shape my center stone is 1.01 ct. Hope this helps! For me it's the perfect size without being too much lol

2.5 carats without halo. I think 2 carats with with halo would look —> way more <— than stunning 😅

Wow! We definitely have different perspectives. This ring seems overly stunning.

That will definitely be big and sparkly!! ✨

My engagement ring doesn't have a halo, but the micro-pave band gives off plenty of light and sparkle! It honestly took me a little while to adjust when I added the wedding band as well - it almost felt like too much! 😄

Rings are personal preference. I have a 1/2 carat center stone with two smaller stones on the sides and no halo and I feel like much larger would have felt gaudy and obnoxious on my hand. I use my hands a lot for work, am very active, and don't wear jewelry often I wanted something dainty and delicate, not big and obvious and show stopping. I think 1/2-1 carat is the most I would have wanted. The ring you picked out looks beautiful but it just wouldn't fit who I am as a person.

Your ring and finger size will also factor into how big something looks on your hand. A one carat stone on slender size 5 fingers is going to look bigger than the same stone on someone who is a thicker size 10. The halo will also make the whole thing feel bigger and more glamorous, regardless of the size of a center stone. I think halos are a great way to up the wow factor while keeping costs reasonable. I had to look up a double halo ring (I hadn't seen one before) and I agree with the previous poster that said it detracts from the center stone and just doesn't have the same wow factor as a beautiful center stone or single halo.

I think the best way to see if you like it is to go to a jeweler and try some on! Rings look different in person than they do online or in pictures, where it can be difficult to see actual proportions!

It looks beautiful! My ring is very similar but it has an infinity band. The ctw was 1.70 it’s blinging but still very dainty.

Rings are entirely personal. For instance, I hate diamonds. Not my style, don't look good on me.

If you are looking to impress with a ring, buy your own, don't put that kind of baggage on your engagement ring - you'll set yourself up for trouble.

This is my ring, it's a lab-created purple sapphire on a filigree band.

That ring looks beautiful! A ring is definitely about preference. The best thing you can do is go try it on! That's what my fiance and I did. We went to Kay's and that's where I fell in love with my single 0.5 carat diamond ring. I've never been much of a jewelry wearer so I love it!

Mine is a 2 ct center stone with a .4 halo and band. My wedding band is an eternity band (I forgot the ct wait).

My ring isn't a halo. My fiance had it custom made and surprised me. He wanted me to have a solitaire. He went with a 1.72 carat princess cut diamond (looks huge). However with the diamonds in the band and he hmm and them made into the prongs as well it's total carat weight is 2.20. The way the setting is made allows light in under the solitaire so it sparkles like crazy. Super blingy. Explore your options because I would have never thought a ring could be so stunning. Also, the diamond will look bigger depending on the size of your hand or finger. Will a 2ctw single row halo ring be stunning enough? 9
