Wild flowers?

Amber, on August 1, 2019 at 4:55 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4
Has anyone ever picked they’re own wildflowers for their wedding? If so when’s the best time to pick them and how dk you get them to last?

I haven't done this, but when I was looking into DIY florals I found a blog (don't remember the name, sorry) where I believe they picked wildflowers the morning of the wedding. If that's an option, whether it's you or family/friends picking them, it's probably the safest for keeping them fresh, but I'd still put them in some water and plant food and/or look into what florists do for bouquets. I know I've heard of people ordering flowers the day before the wedding, arranging them into bouquets and such, and keeping them in water overnight until they're needed, which could also work.

Plant food and water, keep them away from light and heat.

I’m not doing wildflowers exactly but I am picking my own flowers at a local U-Pick flower farm. Cut them early morning, if you cut them near the hottest part of the day they’ll wilt.

    Hey Amber Smiley smile

Some great tips from the previous posters! I didn't realize that if you cut flowers near the hottest part of the day they will wilt!

Is there somewhere near your venue that has wild flowers growing that you have access to? What type of flowers?
