Why isn't my officiant responding?????

My officiant sent me a draft script shortly after we booked her. She said to look it over and give her our feedback. I thought it was a bit early for that but still I responded right away, saying we were very excited and would look it over together.

I then emailed her some days later with our thoughts/concerns. We did make a few changes, but I didn't think it was a big deal since it seemed that what she sent us was a very generic template that she uses. Mainly it was things like removing the "who gives this bride...." line, changing traditional vows to writing our own vows and the wording for the ring exchange.

Well, it's been 10 days since I sent that email and she still has not responded. Not even to say she got the email. Why would she rush to send us the draft and then not respond to our feedback?

How much longer should I wait to send a follow-up email?

They might be thinking we've got time, but yeah, I'm surprised how soon they sent it. I wonder if it's just their template they sends to everyone and asks their clients to edit to their personal liking? I really have no clue. I'd do a follow up with the officiant and just ask what's the general timeline they were thinking of working with you.

I'd follow up with her, but honestly, it's way early to be finalizing your ceremony. You'll probably have dozens of ideas between now and then.

What she sent you was probably a boiler plate template that you can finalize later, but she SHOULD have gotten back to you.

That being said, it's a crazy time of year for all of us. I"ll be working on my May weddings in March, just to give you a point of reference.

Just call It will make you feel better - I hadn't heard from my DJ until this week and he never got my emails asking to meet to get our songs together

I have my ceremony script also that i had to make changes it took my officiant a few day to get back to me about it.

I wasn't really even thinking about the specifics of the ceremony yet since it's not for another 7 months. It surprised me that she sent it so soon, but since she asked for our feedback, I made time to look it over and get back to her. I really don't expect it to be finalized any time soon, I would just appreciate it if she let me know she got it. It seems odd mostly because prior to booking her, she always responded to emails very quickly.

I had the same experience with our officiant. I made FH call him, and it turns out he had just forgotten to respond to my email. Just send a quick and friendly email making sure she got it-- there's probably nothing to worry about.

Call. Email is not infallible; I just got the fourth copy of one back from one of my couples.
