I'm not trying to lose weight for my wedding, I'm trying to lose weight for my marriage. I want to be the healthiest I can be when we start our life together. That being said, IDGAF what the scale says, I care about the numbers at the doctor's office (cholesterol, BP, etc), how my clothes fit, and that I have the strength to pick up our children and carry them for as far/long as is needed. If I lose weight and look better in my dress- BONUS! If not, that's OK too.

I get sad for the people that lose weight for the wedding but go back to eating like garbage/not moving the day after the wedding. You are healthy (hopefully)! Keep yourself healthy for your family so you mitigate health concerns as best as you can!

I'm only dieting "for my wedding" because I can't fit into my dress I bought in October, and I am too cheap to buy another or pay for alterations. It fit like a glove and I want to get back there, but I bought it right before my birthday, then winter holidays, nesting, blah blah. My FH is actually excited to see the curves that I developed but I want to be healthier as a rule anyway. That being said, man, compared to the cost of eating healthier, I should have just bought a new dress!

I know the size that I feel my best at and it has been some time since I was that size. The wedding was great motivation to get to my better self. I want to feel confident and beautiful and look back at my photos and know that the hard work paid off.

After my boudoir shoot I finally felt confident in my body the way it is now not wishing I was 21 again! Over the past year I have gained a lot of strength and muscle so I am happy. I am going to enjoy life and not deprive myself but not go crazy either! I am more concerned about being in a bathing suit for a week on the honeymoon!

Salisott, what a great way to put it!

On this same train of thought, one day I was whining about going to workout and FH stopped and said, "we have to work out so that we can live longer so that I can love you longer." So I'll stop complaining, because it's about more than looking good in wedding pictures.

Good for you! But just make sure you are healthy and all set for real life things! I also think it is weird to not look like you for the wedding which is why I won't be doing a spraytan and things

I gained a lot of weight towards the end of last year (after having already purchased my dress earlier in the year), so I have to lose weight lol! I'm 9 lbs down, and 7 lbs away from my weight when I got my dress. I should be fine since it's a corset back, but I still want to lose the rest of the weight and then some to feel my best. Gaining weight took a toll on my knees and feet and I want to be able to dance the night away at my wedding, back at a healthy weight again! @katie90 - You are totally right that it's not just about looks, it's about health too!
