What is the reasoning for your actual wedding date?

We chose May 2, 2020. We have multiple factors involved. The 2nd came from our original anniversary of December 2nd. We are getting married outside in Wisconsin so we couldn't keep it in December. The month was all driven by work. We have very big decisions to make in July so we have to have all paperwork filed before then. 2020 was between deployments for one or both of us.

Tell your story!

I choose my date based on our favorite season (spring /fall). Plus we wanted our wedding date not to close to big holidays or any immediate family birthdays. My date is 04/25/2021.

We first chose 6.20.2020 as it sounds nice and we like even number. Then the venue is booked that day already so we do 6.27.2020 and it’s my husband-to-be’s birthday 😁

We picked May 1 2020 because our anniversary is already in May however we never had an actual day. When we started dating I said I didn’t want anything serious and here we are 13 years later lol. So we will be getting married on our 14 year anniversary and our one year of marriage anniversary will be our 15 year anniversary together, which I thought was kinda special!

We wanted a fall wedding, and our current dating anniversary is 5/15/15. 10/10/20 seemed like a fitting evolution from our original date, and it's also just really cool.

(Before I met FH, I was talking with a colleague about how maybe someday I'd get married. I started looking waaaay into the future at dates and picked 10/10/20. Once we got engaged I suggested the date, sort of as a joke, but he loved it! The two-year engagement also helps us with finances.)

We’re getting married 2.20.20! I’m a teacher and I’m off that President’s week. It’ll be a destination wedding in Puerto Rico! My future hubby won’t forget that day and neither will anyone else lol. Many people are coming with their families and using our wedding as an excuse to vacation.

My late grandmother would have been 100 that day. I lost my mom at 14 and dad, her son, at 17 and she took care of me. She shaped who I am and it's my way of including her. We knew we wanted a fall wedding and it just fell into place like it was meant to be

We originally wanted to get married on April 18th, 2020 - the 18th coming from our anniversary December 18th.

The venue we first wanted to book just randomly dropped off the face of the earth & stopped communicating with us so we then luckily stumbled upon our now venue - which happens to be cheaper & prettier [HALLELUJAH!]. Unfortunately our venue already had a company event booked on the 18th so we decided to just push it a week!

Our wedding is now on April 25th, 2020! Which I actually really love because it happens to be a date from an infamous line from one of mine & my grandmas favorite movies to watch together ❤.

Our anniversary is 2/27 which fell on a Saturday in 2020. However, I didn’t want a winter wedding. I wanted a fall wedding, but my FH and his family hunts and I couldn’t bring myself to have our wedding during hunting season. So I got as close as I could lol It came down to 8/22/2020 and 8/29/2020 and I liked the way 8/22/2020 looked. So we picked that!

We found a love letter that we wrote to each other in 1992! It had this date (June 13) on it as a date we would be together. All these years later we are, so it was the perfect wedding date.

We are getting married on December 2nd! That’s a good date 😜
When deciding on a date, we originally wanted October, but then I had a dream about us getting married in front of a stone fireplace underneath a giant Christmas tree, so we decided on December! (Which works great, because FH wanted a wedding close to Christmas since it’s his favorite holiday.)
We knew we wanted to get married on a weekday to help save money, and after talking to those in our bridal party and our family, it was easier for everyone to take off a Monday rather than a Thursday or Friday. So we looked at the calendar and picked the 2nd, because I didn’t want to get too deep into December because then it’s too close to Christmas (which is a busy time for everyone.)

Well, come to find out! My grandmother got married on December 2nd too! Her husband died when my mom was a teenager, and she never talks about him so we didn’t know! But here’s the cool part! THEY GOT MARRIED ON A MONDAY TOO! When I asked my grandma about it, she said “Well yeah. Of course it was a Monday. The courthouse wasn’t open on Sunday.” So it was meant to be ❤️

July 25th was the day we first met. When we talked about getting married, we always said that date, half-jokingly. When he officially proposed, we talked about other dates, but found it weird after saying July 25th for so long 😄

It will be our ten year anniversary when we get married next year. It was important that our marriage anniversary be on the same day because we’ve been together for so long that we want it to signify our marriage is a continuation, not a beginning.

Fives are my favorite number and my lucky number is 25, or five fives. So we chose 5/25/20. All multiples of five.

We originally chose 4/25/2020 because it is the day before our 7th anniversary together. But we realized that is apple blossom weekend. The festival takes place downtown and we are getting married downtown. (Apple blossom is a huge festival here in Winchester) so we went with 4/4/2020.
