We chose May 2, 2020. We have multiple factors involved. The 2nd came from our original anniversary of December 2nd. We are getting married outside in Wisconsin so we couldn't keep it in December. The month was all driven by work. We have very big decisions to make in July so we have to have all paperwork filed before then. 2020 was between deployments for one or both of us.

Tell your story!

I wanted to be done with my Master's (finishing in December but it was originally middle of next May when he proposed) and I wanted my Aunt to be able to make it because she practically raised me (she is a teacher). So late spring/early summer seemed like the best time to do it! We chose the weekend after my aunt would be out of school for the summer which ended up being May 30!

Ours is May 16th 2020. A few things played into our date. However, none are sentimental or really sweet haha

1 ) I really wanted a spring wedding (I don’t like too cold or too hot and I didn't want fall)

    2) We got engaged May 11th 2019 so we had a full year to officially “plan” (we actually booked our venue and photographer back in March)

    3) We wanted to go on our honeymoon immediately after the wedding so before we booked our venue, I kept track of flight prices to Europe and they drop quite a bit in mid May for shoulder season so it was an easy sway for us!!

We picked November 2 because it's All Souls' Day. Being both from Irish heritage, this day holds a great deal of significance. It is the final day of the festival of Samhain (now known as Halloween), which is considered the time of year when the spirits of the dead can return to Earth. So it's our way of honoring our departed loved ones and allowing them to "attend" if only spirit. Also, per Irish tradition, we had a handfasting ceremony, which is held one year and one day before the wedding. So, ours landed on Halloween night, our favorite holiday. Samhain is also the old Celtic New Year. So, we though marrying on the last day of the celebration, would allow us to start fresh as husband and wife at the beginning of a new year.

FH will graduate from grad school in May 2020 and I knew I wanted a fall wedding, so we decided fall 2020 was for us. My favorite number is 11 and his is 7- 11/07/2020 happened to be on a Saturday. It was also the first Saturday our venue had open, so it kind of seemed like fate.

We started out thinking early fall or late summer in 2020. We met on August 15, 2015, so when trying to chose a date, I happened to realize that August 15, 2020 is a Saturday, so we went with that. It's a cute story and makes it easy to remember since it's the day we met.

We originally wanted the end of September because we live in Western Mass where fall foliage is gorgeous that time of year. He's a teacher so it had to be a weekend so we definitely wanted a Saturday. We toured 2 venues. One had the date we wanted available but we just didn't feel it and the venue we really wanted only had dates in June or August. June would have been too soon so we went with the only date they had available in August which was the 17th.

I loved the idea of an October wedding, but it determined on a college football schedule. His friends are big into tailgating so it had to be an away game. We figured between October 3rd or October 11th 2020 and due to some vendors /venue we wanted ended up with October 3rd.

My father passed when I was 8 years old.

We are High School sweethearts and when we got engaged ( almost three years ago! ), we knew it needed to be a long engagement so we could logistically have a wedding and a life together. I knew I wanted a spring wedding, so we looked at the calendar. We realized my dads birthday would land on a Saturday in 2020 and it all just seemed so perfect. A way to include him in our day when he can't physically be there. We are getting married April 25th, 2020. It seemed so far away in Decemeber of 2016!

We're getting married April 25, 2020. No real reason really. We originally wanted a fall wedding but the venue we wanted is in Salem, MA and fall is absolutely crazed here. My FH didn't want a summer wedding because of the heat, so we chose spring. It needed to be a Saturday and I work in the accounting field so it needed to be after tax season!

We wanted a fall wedding and since a lot of our guest are out of town we needed to be a Saturday. 10/12 was the only Saturday left at the venue in October.

    1) I wanted to be married!! I didnt want to wait.
    2) I want to get married before I graduated as I didn’t want to change my name on my license as I’ve heard it was a pain so many people just don’t do it.
    3) school breaks, lol. The schedule doesn’t get payed until just a couple of months before, so we picked a holiday weekend (MLK) and started planning.
We wound up having just over a year and it was perfect. Out of “season” so I got my pick of vendors, enough time to plan, and NO waiting!

We’re getting married on 10-10-2020 because it’ll be our 10 year anniversary. We had the date picked out before we got engaged.

We’re getting married next week on October 4th. It’s the day I became his girl, the day I became his fiancé, and will be the day I become his wife.

Honestly, we just kind of picked it via what venue we wanted to do.

We are doing it at a 'historically' haunted location, so October seemed like a no-brainer. We were given 2 choices. 10.05 and 10.12, I picked the first one. I debated picking later, but I wanted to still have the nice weather and it's a historically dry/nice weather day. A bonus that I found out later on when I was going through some paperwork is that my cat was adopted on 10.05.04 and I've had him since I was 13... so maybe some part of me happened upon that day for more than just coincidence. Haha.

Our favorite holiday is also Halloween and my Birthday is in November, his in December -- so easy to remember Anniversary, Birthday, Birthday.

We’re getting married April 26 2020, we wanted close to the 24th as our anniversary is oct 24 and our first kiss was a feb 24th and we got engaged on the 24th. But we didn’t want a Friday wedding so we went with the 26th. It works out also though because 4/26 is national pretzel day and our first date was the first time I had auntie anne’s Pretzels and it’s kind of a tradition to have one on special occasions

Our wedding has to be in June, July or August because my FH is a zamboni driver for the NY Islanders. Their season is pretty much September through May/June depending how far the team goes so we were limited. When we were looking at venues, the date of 7/11 popped up and he immediately knew he wanted that date and we are having slurpees at the wedding! 😂

We’re getting married in June! I graduate college in May and I need time to pass my boards for my RN. I will probably start a job in July- so June was the best month to get married in between those things. Originally we decided on the 20th but some friends of ours picked that date before we could. Also our anniversary is on November 6th- so the number six will still have a special meaning to us!
