Why are veils so pricey?

I'm looking at spending no more than $200 for my dress. Why do veils cost almost if not more than that? Even the really simple ones are like $100. They're beautiful, don't get me wrong. I'm looking for about elbow length or a little shorter for a "traditional" one (I'm planning on wearing it under my updo) and I like the style of the bird cage one, but not sure if it would look right with my dress:

Not trying to be snotty but speaking as someone who has made veils, they are NOT easy to make nor are they fun. The reason they cost so much is because they always have to be made by hand because the fabric shreds easily under a machine. They are just too delicate to be honest. I won't even make my own! LOL. Anyway, I agree with shopping on eBay. It really is amazing! I hope you find what you are looking for! Smiley smile
