We are having a beach wedding and I planned on doing a sand ceremony. I'm reading a lot here that this is "overdone" as if it's a trend. From what I understand this is an old tradition replacing he unity candle. Obviously we can't have candles on the beach as they won't stay lit. I "think" it's a nice way of adding a symbolic touch to your ceremony but what am I missing? I've never been to a wedding where I've seen this so personally I don't feel like it's overdone lol.

I get why people say sand ceremonies are overdone or are "crafty", but seriously if you're having your wedding on a beach, all bets are called off. It matches perfectly! And some of the vases I've seen around are so elegant and in no way "crafty"...I personally wasn't into any sort of unity ceremony until I heard about the unity cross. We wanted to make sure to incorporate our Christianity into the ceremony, and it's probably the most important part of our ceremony now to be honest. That's what's important - how it makes you and your FH feel. And with any unity ceremony you do, you have this awesome momento in your home afterwards! That's what I like the most haha. So to each their own! Smiley smile
