Why am I having such a long engagement?!

We had a 3.5 year engagement. We wanted to save up for our wedding so we could pay in cash. We got married just over a week ago and now we are starting our married life debt free. I can honestly tell you that nothing feels better then knowing it is all paid off!!

I know exactly the feeling. I got engaged Christmas 2012 and we are planning a summer 2017. I am so tired of waiting and want to start planning already but without the money we won't be able to plan. We are still saving.

We will be engaged for approx 22 mos by the time I get married and actively planning for 18 mos. Now that I'm roughly halfway there it seems like I have no time left! If I was more paid down I would feel better about it...wish I would have started paying for things right away!

I totally feel you! I have a 29 months engagement. Still 21 months to go!! But I need to wait because we need to save a lot. We're having a destination wedding in another country. Time flies though, can't believe it's been almost a year since my fh's proposal!

We've been together for 12 years but only "officially" engaged for 17 months at this point. I say officially because we've both been planning it for years but he didn't put a ring on it until May 21st 2013. By the time the wedding gets here, it'll be a 27 month engagement. I get jealous sometimes but I'm do glad that I have the time to plan and save for it the way I want. Seems to not be as stressful this way.

Ours is 22 months. I honestly don't think I could have done it in any shorter of a time, but it for sure makes me wish it was here already!

I'm having a 3 year engagement for the same reasons, school, money, etc. I go crazy knowing how far away it is but I try to stay positive because I know I want the wedding I've always fantasized about. I pretty much live on Pinterest and have made a homemade wedding inspiration board. I just wish time would hurry up! Good luck with all of your planning

I feel you! My engagement is only going to tally at 10 months, which seems interminable! We're in our mid-30's and it's not like we don't have the time/money. We're just waiting for a date that I threw out sort of as a joke... Now I'm wishing I never learned the word 'palindrome.'

I had a 18 month engagement and it has really started to fly by!
