Whoops....just accidentally invited someone

Nope, I was super careful about offending people and limiting our guest list.

I would have said, "sorry, wrong text."

@ALC maybe I should have gone that route.... might have been awkward when I saw him on Saturday.

I'm super paranoid about having this happen but it hasn't happened yet thankfully. That sucks though! Maybe he'll opt not to come?

OP, I think you already hit the nail on the head, I would just bite the bullet on that one seems wrong to resend the invite now. Yikes...is exactly how I would of reacted. Hopefully the website invite isn't an issue, I wouldn't think most people would notice that, and like you said invites haven't gone out and you didn't send save the dates. Still a bit awkward though.

Yeah, he may decline. They're local, and if they do come it's just more life to the party. As soon as I hit send though, I remembered the conversation FH and I had about this specific person. We were on the fence with him....he's more of an acquaintance, very socially awkward, and there are others we know better whom we couldn't invite. He does travel a lot for work so he may be unable to come anyway.

ALC's suggestion seems kind of rude. How would you feel if you thought you were getting an invite to your friend's wedding and five seconds later "oops that was meant for someone else - you're not invited".

I think you should just bite the bullet and BE CAREFUL in the future! Maybe they won't even be able to come.

One of my BM's sister messaged FH and me to congratulate us on getting engaged and offered to help us with recommendations (she lives in our area and recently got married). She's very sweet but just not someone we are really close to. FH told her "I hope you guys are free that day!" Luckily, she replied saying for us to not feel obligated to invite them because she understands how expensive weddings are. But I still feel obligated to invite them since FH said that!

I agree, I think you need to invite them! At least you didn't accidentally send the message to someone who didn't have a girlfriend, then you would have been given away.

Did he give anything away with his reply? That is promising if he travels for work, and also that's a wonderful outlook on the situation " it's just more life to the party".
