I am quite possibly on the verge of an anxiety attack because shit keeps adding up even though I cut back everything. So I'm basically obsessing on how to cut costs as much as reasonably possible for our wedding next April. I already cut our alcohol tab in half (saved 2K), axed guests from our already cut-throat list, done a butt-load of DIY with items given to me for free or next to it. I've bought almost all our decor second-hand, my dress with accessories and alterations will run me about $800 total, I'm doing basic-ass centerpieces, my grandma wants to make our wedding cake - but she has migraine induced vertigo and that's affected her ability to bake lately, AND we are doing our own DJ. This shit is CHEAP.

What is your experience with Whole Foods for flowers, bouquets, and possibly wedding cakes?? I have a woman on Etsy who can do crepe paper bouquets at $35 a piece and they look STUNNING, but I also saw where WF will do bridal bouquets for $60.

Help me before I lose my shit

I'm getting flowers from Costco and flowers for my 25 centerpieces will run me roughly $90.

That was just on display to buy! I thought it was really cute. They could be used for centerpieces too. I'm throwing a retirement party for my boss later this month and will probably get these for centerpieces. They are in mason jars and also cost $10. You could also try trader joes. They always have pretty flowers but you would have to cut the stems.

It depends on your local store. I looked into WF for my wedding and when I spoke to the woman she just didn't sound all that confident. I ended up using a reasonable local florist. Call around and get prices from florists, you never know what they might come up with.

Just wanted to stop in and say hey date twin!

I will most likely use a florist for my bouquet, and costco for centerpieces.

For my BM I finally decided on this look but adding babies breath to kinda match the GM's bouts. The Florist I booked quoted me $17 and they will be delivered. That was the downfall of WF. Good luck girl! I'm starting to cut certain details to save money too

@now - I appreciate your suggestions and insight. I know it sounds like we're cutting things across the board but our guests aren't going to notice or feel like we're cheap. We decided that we wanted to spend the bulk of our budget on excellent catering, photography, and entertainment for our guests. We found a really great local caterer who is providing 2 meats, 4 sides, and hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour as well as 3 attendants. We're big foodies so we did not want to cut corners there. Our guest list includes only our families and closest friends, and our list has 105 adults and 14 kids/youths. FH actually wanted to get married this fall which would have been like a 7 month engagement and I had to talk him down from that lol. We also thought about pushing our date out further in the year but our families practically rioted. We live together and both our families are fairly religious, so we're committing so much sin Smiley winking. So to keep them all happy we decided on exactly one year engagement.

I guess we honestly don't see the point in spending so much when all the people that will be there would love us just the same if we had our wedding in the backyard and ordered pizza to celebrate Smiley smile

Check out Eco flowers! I just got my bouquet and the girls' bouquets from there. A small bouquet is $35. They're beautiful! You can customize them also. They have clearance and deals of the day are $25.

As for the cake, I'd say a simple sheet cake for your guests and a fancier one that you can display and cut. Key thing is NOT to mention its for a wedding or the price will multiply.

I've read the only real way to lower the budget is to cut down your guest list. If that's not an option then I hope my above suggestions help!

Good luck to you. It'll be worth it. It's hard to stay on budget but some things are worth spending more on.

I know whole foods has their prices for bouquets online and I know I can't imagine anything being budget friendly from there, but their prices really aren't too bad for flowers. Like other PPs have mentioned, check out Costco

I totally feel your stress. I am ordering my flowers from a grocery store in bulk, and my sister and aunt who are into making bouquets are making mine. I'm not much into flowers. The ladies are holding bouquets, the men won't have flowers, and the tables will have flowers, the left over flowers will be for the flower girls.

I know this is going to sound totally crazy but I was a BM in a wedding about 2 months ago. They didn't have a lot of time or money due to her FH getting stationed in Germany (he is in the army) they practically threw together a wedding. The day of the wedding the bride's mother took all the girls to Walmart to get our nails done. While we were at Walmart the bride had us pick out our own bouquets from the flowers Walmart had, the flowers were like $10.00 each. It was honestly the most fun I had being a bridesmaid. We all had different colored flowers and they looked great. Just thought it was a fun and great idea.
