Who should people RSVP to?

When my brother got married, people RSVP'd to my sister-in-law's mother and sister. We are not going to do the response cards because we are having a buffet and I feel like the response cards are a waste of money in our case. My question is, who should we have people call to RSVP? I've heard mixed things. Some people say our guests should RSVP to us, but since my fiance and I are so busy (he works crazy hours right now) would it be wrong to have my side RSVP to my mom and his side RSVP to his mom? Thanks! Smiley smile

If you trust them to follow up if necessary then go for it. Personally I want everyone rsvping to me so I know whats going on. Part of that though is FH and I live 13 hours from our closest family so we are used to doing everything on our own.

You could also create an email geared only for the wedding example: ***************@*****.*** and then you don’t feel like you are wasting money on the RSVP cards and anyone can keep track of the email whether your mom, his mom, or either one of you sign in. I had a friend do that for her wedding and it worked.

I do have to say we did not offer meals on our RSVP response card and we’ve had a very good turnout with people sending the card back whether it was a yes or no RSVP. I think when people see that you used a stamp they don’t want it to go to waste. That’s how I feel when I get one at least! Might be worth the money for your sanity of not tracking everyone down to just included a physical RSVP with the invite, but your choice!

Do whatever you're most comfortable with, but we had a girl on here who went to a wedding and the bride had RSVPs go to someone other than herself and the groom. I can't remember the story but she either had 50 no shows or 50 additional people attend.
