Those three little words can be scary to say for the first time!. With you and your fiancé(e), who said “I love you” first?
He and I met, as a blind date October 1, 2011 in Upstate NY. I was about to have surgery mid November and as I was going back for the surgery( heavily drugged mind you & wearing No jewelry) he said “Don’t worry, I’ll be right here. I Love You!” I was like “OMG OMG OMG! He said he loves me!” And the nurse was like “Of course he did honey, he is your husband after all.” And then I was going “Noooo, you don’t get it...” and all of a sudden she did! “Is that the first time he’s said it?” “Yes!!!!” I replied and the next thing I knew I was waking up to him sitting in the chair in recovery.
7yrs later we are engaged( finally!) and getting married September 19, 2020.
FH was determined not to say it first. He kept telling me whenever I was ready, he would say it back, but that he would not say the words until after I had. He did say it in sign language, though. Which still very much counts to me. But I ended up saying it the first night I stayed over at his place right before he fell asleep.
