Have you heard any concerns about January 2nd being so close to the Christmas and New Years holidays that it would be hard for people to come? I have heard this and it’s in my head now. Haha. Hey Elisabeth! Finally, I found a wedding date twin! Lol. Luckily, I haven't heard those concerns too much from close friends or family. For more distant relatives and friends, I could see this being an obstacle, but we have made peace with it since we really want that specific date. We know that our close friends and family, and those who really care about us will make it work! That being said, I don't expect everyone to make it work either. It also helps that at least 75% of our guests live within a few hours of our city. So we haven't heard concerns about the holidays, but more so concerns about the weather. We're just praying we don't get hit with a blizzard around our date.
The beauty of the long engagement with this unique date/time of year is that we can give guests plenty of notice, so they likely won't have plans yet or they have time to change them. We are sending out save the dates in the next few months, so they will have more than a year's notice.

View Quoted Comment I agree with all the above. Haha. I’m hoping no inclement weather. There should be plenty of time for people to arrange their calendars. Also it’s like a second celebration after New Years. I tried to see if there was a way to message off the forum without having to search for the post, but I guess not 🤷‍♀️. I think the thought is just stuck in my head. I like having the additional time to plan for the wedding. The alternative was October 2020 and I felt that was a bit tight. Have you started booking anything yet? I’m wondering if photographer or makeup would be higher cost give the proximity to New Years holiday. We are looking at venues on 8/24. So hopefully we will nail down the location and church by end of September.

Hi everyone! We got engaged in April of this year. I was looking through the posts for a wedding date twin but I don't see one yet. We are putting our deposit at our venue next week for November 13, 2021 and I basically already have the centerpieces and decor picked out. We got some free engagement pictures taken last weekend and I am hoping they come out good because I would love to start designing our STD's!! I have also been researching other vendors, like dj's & photographers but I feel like it is too soon to be booking them so far out.
