We like to say our family comes first. We have a son(mine from a previous marriage) and we have a daughter together. The kids are priority. Yet my FH and I work very hard to spend time together. We got pregnant very early in our relationship so getting time for just us is important. We spend time together every night after the kids go to bed.

If I become a mother, I want the best for our child and would do nearly anything for him/her

I have children (two kids in college) and my husband comes first. He knows, however, that my sons and I are super close and would never try to "muscle in" on them. I love my kids in one way, my hubby in another, no reason to get jealous, lol. My kids have such respect for my hubby that if I were to openly do something "behind his back" so to say, they would be really offended as they feel protective towards him.

You should always spend time prioritizing the relationship. You need to live with them after the kids leave the home and you are role modeling what a marriage is.

Spouse, always. I'm thankful this is something H and I agree on without question. I believe that marriage should come first, because without a healthy marriage, I think it would be difficult to be a good parent and you will likely end up getting divorced.

However, I think this is easy for me to say since I am a wife before I will be a mother. I think for people that became parents first, or have children from a previous relationship, it is a bit more blurry.

Smiley heart "without a healthy marriage, I think it would be difficult to be a good parent".
