White vs ivory .. pictures please!

That is what I am thinking too, now that I look at it. She said it was ivory, but I am thinking it's gotta be an antique or champagne color instead.

My dress is “off white” technically, but it looks totally white. At the shop, they told me the true white has more of a blue tint to it.

Mine was ivory, and we did get the guys shirts in ivory just in case, but I think it's hard to tell if you don't know. Only time I could really tell was buying the veil. I ordered one on Etsy, checked the swatch first, and their ivory seemed to match my dress. But it came and seemed almost champagne next to the dress. Ordered 2 more from Amazon, in white and ivory. This ivory was much softer and matched the dress perfectly, but the white veil next to the dress was blinding.

My dress is considered ivory and cream and my fiance will wear a white shirt with a white jacket and black lapels. We think it'll look fine. However, we were at a menswear store and the associate INSISTED that he should wear ivory. I personally do not like ivory men's dress shirts.

I feel more comfortable now seeing a real life photo!

Don't get hung up on the words "white" or "ivory." Pick what looks flattering for your skin tone. Bridal white is not flattering on most people, which is why most stores don't really carry sample dresses in it. It is really harsh. Similar to an LED light bulb compared to a "soft white" light bulb. Both are white, but just different shades.

And don't let the white versus ivory shirt thing freak you out. Ivory men's shirts are usually very yellow and dingy looking compared to a white shirt, so you'll definitely want your guys in white shirts regardless of what color your dress is.

My dress was ivory with a moscato (blush) underlay and H's shirt was white and was from Jos. A. Bank.

Not the greatest quality picture (obviously not a pro photo lol) but you get the idea. H had his suit jacket on in our pro photos that were in natural light.

This one is a pro photo where the quality is obviously better, but you can't see his shirt as well. But you can get an idea of what "ivory" looks like.

This is my ivory dress. I thought I wanted a white dress until I tried this one on and it’s beautiful. It depends on the material as well some will look more yellow than others. Mine was closer to white 😊

I originally got white. & I kept stressing about it because my FH and I already live together have 2 children. I've always heard people attach a white wedding dress to "pure" so it was literally messing with my head. & I know that's not how the white dress started. I know that's not the meaning of a white dress. I absolutely loved the white but, I couldn't in good caution wear a white dress. I think I felt worse about it because I will be getting married in a Catholic church. I guess I let others opinions get the better of me so I returned it and traded for ivory. When I put ivory on I fell even more in love with it. I don't regret my decision by far.

I understand i was just like you. I wanted a white dress to and once i found the dress i didnt care anymore my dress is antique ivory and silver beading its so pretty ...once you find the ONE it wont matter white or ivory there are alot of pretty dresses . Most shops around here where i live dont carry white either so weird i think bc white is going out of style now ...Goo

My dress is white, with corset back A line

I personally prefer ivory over white. I couldn’t tell my dress was ivory I thought it was white and when the bridal shop showed me a white dress I was in shock at how white it was. There’s a lot of different white tones, off white, coconut white, sand white... the list is endless. I had an all white color wedding and they all match and blended just fine. I used white and ivory and the contrast looked great. I didn’t have any issue with the contrast of shoes, flowers and husband shirt.
