Okay so I loveeeee my e-ring... and it's 18K white gold... well I have only had it for about a month and a half and I'm noticing a few scratches on the bottom (palm side) of it..really not noticable unless you're really looking..I've also read a lot about white gold turning yellow and needing rhodium plating or dipping. Soo...

1. is this normal to have scratches after such little time?

2. I got my Ring from the Jeff Cooper collection at Orr's jewelers... does anyone know if they cover the dipping/plating for free? Does all white gold need dipped because they didnt say anything to me about it which i wish they would have

3. How often approx. will I need to get my ring dipped?

Sorry for so many questions but it's on my mind! lol Platinum just seemed so expensive :/ Tell me I'm not stupid for picking white gold! lol

Bottom line is there is NO white gold. The rhodium plating does give the yellow gold a platinum or white gold finish. If you got a warranty then you can get the ring dipped when you want or think it needs it for no additional charge. If you didn't then take it to a local jeweler you trust and see what they charge to warranty the ring for rhodium dipping, sizing and prong tip repairs and such. It's worth it to be sure your ring is always in good condition.

I have only had me ring for 6 months and it almost looks like yellow gold all the way around because it has turned so much. I am contemplating going to a new jeweler to ask their opinion. My sister has had a white gold ring for ten years and just had it dipped this month. Everyone who I have asked agrees that is has really yellowed. I am getting married in February and it is not going to match my band!

I got mine redipped after 4 months because I'm a nurse and was wearing it to work. Very normal and common and cost me $30. I prefer the white gold look so to me its worth it
