In my area of the northeast, November through March is considered off-season.

Some venues we looked at actually offered discounts for July-August, though, I guess because of the heat.

Look at your local tourist rates. The low tourism season is the off season.

Michelle, July-Sept. are off-season months here in Fla. because it is hot, humid, and we get an afternoon thunderstorm nearly every day. Hurricane season is June 1 thru Nov. 30, but Sarasota has been very lucky in that department.

I find that weddings start picking up in October (in fact, that's when we got married).

In 2013, busiest months were May with 13, Dec., (tied March, April, Oct.), (tied June & Aug.), Feb., (tied Sept. & Nov.), July, and then Jan. with 0 weddings.

It depends, where you are. Here in Florida its pretty much June through mid September. It gets really hot, but I make it work with nice discounts on my photography and I also do destination weddings at a reduced cost to stay busy. You will get some serious discounts at most venues, as well so it can be quite advantageous to do an off season wedding in South Florida. Just avoid anything outdoors!

    Good luck and congrats!
