Which linens & napkins to choose?

Bridgette, on November 22, 2020 at 1:35 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 27
Our colors are navy blue, burgundy, dusty pink & ivory. Groomsmen are wearing navy blue, I’m wearing an ivory dress & bridesmaids are wearing an ombré of pinks. Our venue is a large tent. I’m having troubles picking out table overlays, napkins & chair sashes, any suggestions ladies?

Sorry, with any other color from lace overlays, or runners or napkins.

I think navy linens with either burgundy or pink table clothes and sash's would look pretty.

I agree with Judith and would have white or ivory table overlays to keep things bright. You could do the chair sashes and napkins in navy or burgundy.

Ivory; definitely not pink... maybe navy would be okay.

What a pretty venue! And so many great color options! Personally, I would either go with navy or white/cream tablecloths and bring in the burgundy & pink in the florals. I don’t care for chair sashes- I think they look awkward and forced and cheapen the look of the decor (same with chair covers).

Chrysta- good finds! I love the last ivory / navy! I agree with chair sashes and covers!! They create a cheaper “chincy?” look.

Our centerpieces will be similar to this, our flowers are mainly roses with a just a hint of navy peonies. Dusty pink, burgundy & ivory are also in our flowers. Would it look off if I did a neutral color such as champagne or even light gold as the table overlay with the table cloth being white & using navy in the napkins?

I just see so many people focusing too much on making sure everything matches & then when it’s all set up, it looks all washed out because they spent too much time making sure everything matches versus the overall appearance of everything.

Love your venue. I would do ivory table cloths with navy and burgundy or pink napkins, alternating tables. So one table with navy napkins, then the next table with burgundy/pink, so on and so fourth. I’ve seen this done and really liked it.

I want to keep it light & airy, I really don’t think I want burgundy & navy on the table setting, reminds me more of American flag then wedding. Do you think it would look off if I used a white table cloth with a light gold or champagne overlay & do the napkins in navy blue? & leave the remaining colors in the centerpieces

White and gold would be classy table colors. I really dislike it when people use WP clothng colors on furnishings or table settings for anything but small details, flowers, or napkin rings, tiny vases. In good interior decoration, or fashion design, people do not dress like the furniture, nor drape the furniture to match clothing. I think bringing in gold with the white an excellent choice. And they are compatible/ complementary to clothing colors, not matchy matchy.

Thank you for that, I completely agree. I see so many weddings online that have WP & table setting in the same colors because they tend to worry more about matching them the overall appearance. I want my centerpieces to stand out, not blend in with the WP & table setting

I would do ivory linens, and add either the navy or the pinks in the napkins, and then add colors in the florals or centerpieces.

The floors are already dark, I would brighten up the place

Thank you! I think I’m gonna add navy in the napkins & maybe a light gold table overlay and leave the rest as is since my other colors will be in my centerpieces.

Judith, what should we do for the head table? We were thinking gold with a dusty pink runner or is that too close to the other tables?
