Which anniversaries do you celebrate?

Lynnie, on September 14, 2018 at 12:05 PM Posted in Married Life 0 35

Today is a big day for me and my husband! Smiley heart We've officially been together (dating) for 10 years!!!

Which anniversaries do you and your spouse (or future spouse) celebrate? Just the wedding anniversary, or also your dating anniversary, the anniversary of your engagement, or even the anniversary of the first time you met?

Now that we've hit this big milestone I think I'm ready to let go of the dating anniversary. Smiley shame But it felt crazy to start over with so few years of marriage!

Tell us more about your relationship in: What's the sexiest thing about your partner? , How long have you known your future spouse? , and Who introduced you to your future spouse?

We’ll probably still celebrate both! Our dating anniversary is 2/6/16 and our wedding anniversary will be 6/2/19 (no it’s not a coincidence that those dates are the same numbers flipped... my FH is very sentimental and chose our wedding date haha).

Since our dating anniversary is in February which is prime blizzard season for us in the northeast, we have not been able to do much for our dating anniversaries in the past because it’s so cold and so hard to plan stuff when you might end up being snowed in 🤦🏻‍♀️ We deliberately chose a summer date for our wedding so we wouldn’t have that issue for the new anniversary haha.

Happy anniversary to you!! Anything special planned?

I think we will just stick with wedding.

It was really hard because we had the holidays, then Jan was our dating anniversary, Feb his birthday, March my birthday. Now wedding is April. I think giving us a break in Jan will be a good idea.

The anniversary of our first kiss. 10/25/07. We remember so well because I was moving the next day and he was adamant I had to try a local restaurant's specialty of "saucy fries" before I left. On the way there he kissed me in the alley behind a church. Every year we celebrate our "sauciversarry" by going to that same restaurant and making out in the alley behind the church while we eat lol

Both! We go away for a night for our wedding anniversary and we have dinner at the same restaurant we had our first date at for our dating anniversary.

We celebrate the day we met and our dating anniversary at the same time - the first date was 2/16/11 and the second was 2/12/12, so we celebrate on/around Valentine's Day. We did actually start dating on the day we met, but the first year was a bit rocky, and we really committed ourselves to our relationship on the second date above, and have been together ever since.

We did celebrate the one-year anniversary of being engaged, but not the two-year one, as it fell just after our wedding (engaged 7/25/16, married 6/29/18). I don't see us formally celebrating it in the future, though it's nice to acknowledge.

Our one-year wedding anniversary will be interesting - my parents will be celebrating their 50th anniversary the day before. We plan to do something really special for them, but haven't decided exactly what yet.

Well my fiancé and I don’t necessarily agree on when our dating anniversary is so once we get married it’ll just be a clean slate. Keep it simple. We have the memories either way and don’t really make a big fuss out of our anniversary anyway, we spend time together but buying presents is pretty redundant when we both have a shopping problem on the regular. Lol

    Congratulations on ten years, Lynnie!

We'll be celebrating the wedding anniversary in coming years, and probably have a little nod to our dating anniversary. it won't be a celebration in the same way as the wedding anniversary, but maybe we'll order in food and watch a movie that night Smiley smile

We'll most likely only do our wedding anniversary. It will be far away enough from holidays and birthdays making it easy to actually celebrate.

Not gonna lie. I forgot our dating anniversary. Its sometime in January? haha I plan to just celebrate the wedding one. Makes it easier for us both to remember. And less money spent on gifts/outings Smiley smile

I think we’re just going to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our first date was 4/12/15 but we broke up for six months in 2016. Then when we got back together he was deployed so our dating anniversary is just too muddied up to celebrate. Our engagement day is 4/8/18 but I don’t think I want to go out of my way to worry about that. So 11/24/19 will be our special day.

    Happy dating anniversary!

We used to celebrate our dating anniversary every year (Sept 28, 2012) but I think we'll probably just celebrate our wedding anniversary from now on. Although, Sept 28 is a Friday this year, so maybe we'll go out for a nice dinner or something. Smiley smile

    Congrats!

We only celebrate our dating anniversary (October 4th). Since we're marrying on October 5th, I assume we'll celebrate both on the 5th.
