Where's the Black Women? (Interracial cake toppers)

BrideDiva, on November 13, 2009 at 10:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 20

I don't know about everyone else, but when I went looking for interracial cake toppers, I found more white bride/black groom cake toppers and I found NO black bride/white groom cake toppers; and that's a big deal for me because I'm an african american woman getting married to a caucasian man. I can't tell you how many websites I went to where they had so more of the white bride/black groom cake toppers and I couldn't find any black bride/white groom. I even found websites that had other interracial cake toppers that were mixed with asians, whites, hispanics, etc, but STILL NO black bride/white groom cake toppers. I'm pretty pissed right now. Most likely, I either just go with Initial cake topper or buy the white bride and paint her. My fiance and I deserve to get a regular cake topper that signifies our love for each other and we shouldn't have to go this route! SOrry for the long VENT, lol

Hey, it's totally understandable! I know I have seen mix and match cake toppers, all the ones I have seen are the bride and groom dancing, is that something you're ok with?

I know Etsy.com has TONS of great artists that make custom cake toppers..Would you be interested in a custom topper?

That is a completely understandable vent. Like mrs schmidt said there are ones that are mix and match. Ive noticed most the picture will show a black man with a white woman but a lot of these are actually mix and match so you can choose. Etsy is a great place to look and if you cant find one you like advertise what sort you would like and people will basically bid to make it for you

You're very welcome! It will be one less thing to be stressed about! I'm still debating on a cake topper at all! But I think I just might use flowers!

I had the same problem, so I just opted for a monogram.

Yeah one less stress, lol, yeah I was going to do flowers myself or Rhinestone initials but I just love the characters to represent us. And thanks, I believe we spoke on another topic while back, not on here often but trying to get back on here more, alot of insights and helpful topics I see.

Yea for another interracial bride! BrideDiva I completely understand I am in the same boat, my fiance is white as well and I am African American. We are probably opting for a monogram or nothing at all. It's not just that the interracial couple cake toppers are mostly white woman black man that bugs me it's that fact that all the cute funny cake toppers are all white, lol There was this really funny one that I loved that is called the honeymoon bound cake topper and my fiance loves cars so I thought this one would be cute, but it only comes in white Smiley sad As do most of the funny cake toppers. Let me know what you find because I am in a search for a good one as well. Smiley smile

It's funny I thought the same thing when I was searching. I just used the topper that the venue provided. It worked just as well. Also it seems like those interracial ones were so expensive.

    I agree with Future Mrs.Schmidt

Since you have been on the search and haven't found what you were looking for I too, will suggest that you get a custom one made. It will be just that more special and exactly what you want. Don't settle for less when you can have the best! Congratulations and good luck on your seach!

We have also been looking and couldn't find any. It really does upset me!!! So we are either going to buy them separately or just use the glass ones.

LMAO, I know what you mean. I noticed the same thing. It's actually harder for me because I'm Hispanic and finding a topper with a hispanic bride and a white groom (he's from Norway actually Smiley tongue, don't know how to describe that) was impossible. I finally decided on a topper. We both have a cat, I have a tuxedo cat named Shadow and he has a Norwegian Forest named Kitty (he got the cat as a kid). We thought it would be cute to get the two cats and Shadow can wear a top hat and Kitty a veil. It is totally us because we both love our cats a lot and we thought it would be a nice way to incorporate them into the party. ^^

It's nice to know I'm not the only one. Sometimes it starts feeling like it must just be me. At least we con commiserate together. I wonder if enough of us got together they would make more verities.

I've been having a really hard time finding funny ones with a black bride and white man as well. My fiancee and I have the greatest sense of humor and all of the funny ones are only of one race and then the mixed ones are all elegant or traditional Smiley sad We aren't traditional we want funny, haha, if anybody finds any of those I would greatly appreciate it, I've looked at some from the postings here and they helped but not quite what we are looking for. Help would be great!!
