Where would guests put wedding cards?

Hi Everyone! Some guests will bring gift card, cash or a wedding card... Would it be best to have a suite case, mail box, a painted shoe box or a bird cage? Or do I even need one? Thanks!

Definitely have a card box of some kind, otherwise people won't know what to do with cards and hand them to random people (MOB, MOH, etc) Also have someone in charge of moving it once the wedding has started, unfortunately sometimes cards will go missing.

I didn't think a card box was important but I guess it is! Glad I read this. I like all the ideas.

I went to a wedding without a card box and was super anxious the whole time. I ended up giving it to the MOB. I bought a little cheap box from Ross.

If you don't want to spend a ton, or aren't talented in the DIY department, (ahem..me), you could try renting one. This is mine, which I'm renting for just $10.

(Not really the best picture since the flowers are blocking it, but you get the idea)

@StephyBC- Thanks! I'm from Canada, so I'm not sure if this place will be local to anyone, but it's a company called Ooh La La Party Rentals.

Definitely get a card box. Also, put a lock on it. I know you don't want to believe that anyone coming to your wedding would steal from you, but it does happen. Especially if your reception is in a public place. I read on here once that one bride had her reception in a hotel ballroom and a random hotel guest came in and stole the cards.

I see a lot of brides are leaning more towards a box, because its more secure. Think some of the bird cages are as safe? I have see a lot of those on Pintrest and they look so cute.

@Lisa - I'm not sure if it is a more regional thing. Where I live you receive almost no gifts at wedding and all cards (w/ money). Mine actually does have a lock on it - but the reception is at my church where I work and I will have one of my nephews clean it out partway through the night and lock them in his trunk or something. I think if you are in a more public venue you shouldn't use the birdcage where they can be grabbed out.
